Probably the worse hotel for service and decor. Food abysmal. The location is good and that's it. It's noisy, tired and needs to be seriously updated. The pool loungers were dreadful and such a shame as the pool itself is nice. Breakfast was so disappointing using cheap breads and again service terrible. Three times I asked for tea. The cooked...

Dear Mrs. Chambers Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. The below comments are most disappointing as we are known for our friendly and attentive STAFF. Clearly from your feedback there has been lapses in our service delivery which we have on your email and investigation taken the necessary corrective measures to ensure that our...

We had a very large room with a balcony, full spacious bathroom and very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, very good breakfast, safe parking on site, beautiful mountain views. The hotel is very conveniently situated and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in Franschhoek. The receptionist, Charlene, was very helpful and assisted us...

We did not expect much from this hotel. Last minute booking. Franschhoek is very busy at this time of the year and Protea was our only option left... Well, the staff is nice. Breakfast is good Night reception very good The bedroom is a little bit tacky but the bathroom are clean. Our bedroom had a rug to mask the...

Stayed here for three nights. Had a ground floor room which overlooked the garden and pool. Unfortunately it was close to where staff got their supplies for cleaning the rooms, so it could be a little noisy in the morning. The rooms are large, but are a little tired looking. Air conditioning is very efficient. There is a fridge in...

Great breakfast. Relaxing pool area. Very central so light stroll to restaurants. Rooms are old fashioned with thin walls so a little noisy but otherwise excellent. They all overlook the pool so the ground floor rooms are ideal for pool users. Large car park for 30 room hotel. We loved it and would definitely stay here again.

We only spent a night here, but liked the homey cottage feel of the room (pool side, second floor). Located at the entrance to Franschhoek, it is quiet, within walking distance to anything within the town core, and in immediate vicinity to one of the best restaurants (Ryan's Kitchen) and a great breakfast place, BCCCIS. Rooms were comfortable, but the...

Good place to stay...apart from our room. Great space but no light! Don't let this put you off the hotel though, good service generally, good breakfast and central location. The only light source was from two ceiling vents and a door that opened up onto the landing wall...not what I'd expect for a suit of rooms!

Beautiful hotel in a serene setting. Recommended for a short stay in Franschoek. Good service and polite staff. No complaints about breakfast either. The lovely court yard would be excellent for a wedding. Spacious rooms and large bathroom and shower.

Loved it. Great location. Beautiful view of mountains. Friendly helpful staff. Clean spacious rooms. Great pool. Secure safe parking. Average / poor wifi. Waking distance of everything in town. Within walking distance of some wine farms (leopards leap etc.). Bike rental across the road. No gym which was disappointing (if it had gym it would get 5star imo).
