As everyone(!) here has said, The Garden House is a great place to stay in Franschhoek. The other reviews here cover all the detail & everything you need to know. Annette will have no trouble retaining her number one status in Franschhoek, the level and quality of service is fantastic. My only concern is that when I try to return...

Lovely Victorian house with beautiful garden and fantastic views if the wine slopes. Amazing breakfast with cereals, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries with yoghourt, pineapple and melon, cold meats ,cheeses and smoked trout followed by croissants, great breads and pastries. Annette is a great character ably supported by Barry. Great sundowners on the house! What more could you want? We would go back like a...

We arrived as part of our honey moon trip earlier this month January and franschoek and the garden house were certainly a highlight. Annette and Barry and their son who was there at the time were very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. Their tips, advice and route planning around the area was fantastic and we enjoyed...

We stayed at the Garden House for two wonderful nights in November. I had high expectations before our arrival from the already glowing reviews on Tripadvisor however nothing had quite prepared me for this place. We were given a warm welcome by Annette and Barry and shown to the garden house - super spacious, comortable with a massive bathroom and...

We found this garden retreat from a friend who knew the area; it's a short walk from the centre of town where there are many cafes and restaurants; the garden with pool and views of the mountains are relaxing; the breakfasts on the stoep are designed for hungry tourists so lunch was never considered advisable. Annette and Barry made us...

We spent 4 nights with another couple in this gem of a guesthouse. Our friends had stayed here before and had highly recommended The Garden House. I have to say that it did not disappoint on any level. It is a beautiful house, full of character and set in the most stunning gardens with views across to the mountains outside...

Yes, it's as good as it appears from all the glowing reviews below. The cottage is spacious (the bathroom huge), the location brilliant (5 mins safe walk from the village centre), the garden beautiful, the pool sparkling etc. But what really makes it are the wonderful British owners, Annette and Barry. Annette wants you to have seriously good time and...

This was our second stay with Annette and Barry and everything was as good as before. If you don't like dogs and cats it wouldn't be for you but if you want a beautiful and peaceful place to relax yet within walking distance of the village centre then it's ideal. Breakfasts are scrumptious though you do have to forego bacon...
