James and his staff are fantastic hosts who really go out of their way to making your stay a memorable one. The location is central and within walking distance of a few great restaurants. We will definitely be back!
Not our first choice in Franschhoek but ideally located for the main street, restaurants, the wine tram (all within short walking distances), and neighbouring vineyards. This quiet 7 or 8 room guest house offers a warm, friendly, relaxed environment more than adequate for a short...More

Hi, There is uber in the village though I am not familiar with its use in the evenings. We have a several local taxi companies that charge a moderate fee for short trips. Currently the fee is about R240 return for distances up to about 3 km. Uber would be cheaper if available. Consider though the wine tram for a days wine tasting. At R220.00 per person for the whole days transport, it is by far the least expensive way of getting around. We are very central to all village restaurants, and a 5 minute walk on average would get you to at least 4 of the best restaurants. Tuk Tuk micro brewery is just 120 metres up from us as well.
