Addo Park is great. The system of the hospitality and accomodation works fine, the price they ask for access in all South African parks definitely too high. And increases constantly year by year. The rudeness of most of the SAN park employess at the receptions is an issue. I can say it after visiting 8 SAN parks in South Africa....

We visited Addo for 3 nights at the beginning of our "Route 62" trip. It was our first time staying in this park (we are regulars to Kruger), we booked a Cottage (CO2) for the duration. It was big, clean, well equipped, had a super king size bed, a great bathroom. As always, in keeping with Sanparks accommodation which is...

Addo really exceeded many of my expectations. We stayed for 2 nights - 1 night in a chalet and another in a Safari Tent. Both offered great views: the chalet a wider view of the valley where you can spot elephant, jackals etc and the Safari Tent had a prime view of the watering hole where we saw Buffalo drinking...

If you go to addo, dont be dissuaded by the thick green indigenous spekboom bush that welcomes you. You do see the animals! If you can, book the rondawels. They have a spectacular view of a waterhole. As the sun sets and you sip your glass of wine and turn your mielies on the braai, keep your binoculars handy. We...

Booked quite late in the year and so they only had a cottage available for the time we had planned to spend here. Had one night here, nice big cottage, lovely big bed, with a nice enough view. It was as clean as I expected, all utilities available in the kitchen, nice big powerful hot shower, big bathroom. Sat out...

We had two rondavels booked at the main camp, nr,4 and nr.5 for two nights. A big tree blocked our view of the elephants from nr.4, as after all thats why we wanted to stay at the main camp. Our shower was not clean and the bathroom floor was very dirty. No welcoming coffee or tea in the rooms. My...

There are many different accommodation types at Addo Main Camp. We chose the rondavels which have a view over a watering hole for our 2 night stay and we were absolutely delighted with our choice. Upon our arrival, there was a youngish elephant drinking at the watering hole. He soon became sleepy and laid down for a nap, something I...

The accommodation that I was assigned to; the Rondavel overlooking the waterhole at the main rest camp seemed very alluring in photographs I viewed on the internet. My main grouse with this accommodation is three-fold. There is no attention to critical detail. No soap was provided in my room for the duration of my stay there. The policy of not...

You still need to pay your conservation fees but staying in the park offers a back to nature authentic opportunity to hear the sounds of nature at night e.g. Spine chilling hyena calls. The accommodation is rustic rather an luxury (other than the 2 guest houses which are fab) but to me offers a more credible experience. I stayed in both...
