This is our 3rd trip to the Blue Palms but this is the one that really stood out to me. We had booked the suite with 2 rooms. The rooms were immaculately clean, which really stands out for me. We love the benches and umbrellas on the 2nd floor to gather and be outdoors, especially in the times of COVID. Location is nice, close walk to the boardwalk and beach. We encountered Alberto the maintenance manager who was so kind and accommodating for us. We lost an earring back in the pool one day and he went above and beyond to find it. Hopefully this hotel values good employees and makes sure they reward and retain someone like him.
We have stayed here a total of 5 times in three past 2 years. I can understand the no smoking rule INSIDE, but to have an employee tell you that you cannot smoke even in the parking lots is ridiculous . If that's the case, they should at least have a bench or a separate area where you can go to smoke. To have to get dressed at 4am to go clear across the street just to have a smoke is discriminatory and also dangerous. We pay good money to stay here and should not be treated like second class citizens.
Overall did not feel welcomed by the staff at the property. It was the 3rd week in July. On the way to the hotel we got a call that we'd be moved during our stay from our room to another, same config room in order to accommodate other guests with longer stays - we'd have to leave the room before 11am the next morning and won't get the other room until possibly 5pm, or they could just cancel our reservation, we were told. It was evident that even post-Covid this property was doing well and did not need our patronage, really? $1,100 for 3 nights, but they didn't care and were ready to give that up had we not been more accommodating. Upon asking, the manager offered $25 off for first night as compensation for the trouble - was not 'worth it' for us. On the way we ended up staying at another hotel for the first night as we had gotten a bad taste already. Had we not been on the road already and made all the plans, we'd have cancelled the reservation - I won't lie, the thought crossed my mind after speaking with the manager, but the kids convinced me otherwise. The check-in/check-out staff were not that friendly either. They didn't even offer or print the folio upon check-out. I noticed that I was charged a few dollars more than what Booking.com showed - they refunded the excess charge when I called them about it. The fire pit and the pool are good. Free parking is nice. The terrace outside the first floor family rooms gave us space to get some air and spread out a bit - the family room can accommodate six people but it can be a little tight. We found some dirty towels and dirty blue blankets with hair on kids' bunk beds. It's an okay hotel to stay at if you don't have other options, but for the money we expected more. Food at Key West Cafe in Wildwood was awesome, esp breakfast. SOL restaurant was good too. We visited Cape May Beach and Wildwood Beach.…
For a New Jersey Shore motel, this was a hidden gem. The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. Our room was very clean and only a minutes walk from the boardwalk. I would recommend Blue Palms and will stay again when visiting Wildwood .
This hotel is a basic wildwood hotel, however it was extremely clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they had bikes we could use for free, The pool was very clean as well. The location to the boardwalk is amazing especially if you plan on doing the water park with kids. We loved pig dog bar and it’s not far from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for a quick beach getaway!
