What a wonderful experience! The moment I stepped foot in this beautiful inn I knew I had made the right decision to stay there. From the gracious and friendly welcome to the beautifully appointed accomodations I enjoyed every minute of my time spent at the Whistling Swan. The Innkeeper was very helpful in suggesting things to see and do in...

The owner knew from our reservations and my subsequent e mail that we were a WEDDING party. My husband and son were dressed for a wedding as was I and one of the bridesmaids was with us. She has only 9 rooms and our party had reserved 5 of them. As weddings go the reception finished early so the first...

This unfortunate set of circumstances could have been avoided if the late check-in procedure had been followed. We ask guests checking in after 9:00 pm to do a self-check. It is not unusual for guests to need a late check-in, and the confirmation letter the guest received gave instructions on how to self-check. It is true that I met the...

The rooms were clean the staff was so nice and friendly the breakfast was delicious and the entire town is quiet just like we like it away from the city and relax in the hammock with a glass of wine. we recommend it to couples that want to get away for the weekend and extend the...

Stayed here for a one night getaway for our anniversary. Had no idea where Stanhope was located, but it wasn't far from home, and the inn looked beautiful on-line. Upon driving down the street, I got a bit nervous since it's located on a modest residential street amongst ordinary homes. However, the inn stands out from the neighborhood as a...

My girlfriend and I have stayed in several east coast B and Bs and Inns and most had either the rooms, the food or the location that I enjoyed. In the case of the Whistling Swan Inn, I enjoyed all three. We booked the Stillwater Mini Suite which was well decorated and maintained. Taller guests should be aware that this...

We stayed for 2 nights at the Whispering Swan for a nearby wedding. Rosalind was a very gracious host and our room was great- pretty without being fussy, very clean and most importantly, a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was on the large porch and it was delicious, especially the pumpkin French toast. I would highly recommend a stay here, it...

While visiting my family in N.J. I always stay at the Whistling Swan, because there is no better place to stay! The Innkeepers are wonderful and accommodating. The building and rooms are well kept, clean and beautiful. The breakfast and snacks are excellent, eating on the front porch is a bonus in the warm weather. Peaceful, quiet and superb is...

As a beginner to bed and breakfasts, I am grateful to have stayed at the Whistling Swan first, so I know how high to raise the standards for all of my future stays at other facilities! Honestly though, I could not have asked for a more comfortable and pleasant experience than what my boyfriend and I were treated to this...

This was our first time staying at a B&B and totally not disappointed! My husband and I spend 2 nights at Whistling Swan in late February. It was a treats to ourselves as newlywed who haven’t gone on their honeymoon yet. We picked the Stillwater suite base on people recommendation. It was a great choice and we thoroughly enjoy it....

The Whistling Swan is a true Victorian lady set along a quiet street where each house has a porch and one can easily imagine a summer's evening with folks walking home from work or a Sunday morning as families walked to the nearby churches long ago. Roz, the innkeeper, is friendly and gave us lots of history about the inn...
