We accidentally booked this hotel instead one of the same name in Seaside Heights. I called the desk within the hour and they said the cancellation would be refunded. Nope! Charged and no refund was honored. Cited cancellation stipulations within the booking to keep my money. Unprofessional and poor business etiquette. Speaks volumes for their customer service concerns.
Cheap rate ($105) advertised on Booking.com, but when the rate is investigated, it's only for a smoking room; non-smoking rooms start at 20% more. I called to ask how they can justify charging MORE for a non-smoking room considering the increased cleaning and damage costs of a smoking room (especially in NJ, which has all bur banned smoking in public places!). Their answer: "If you don't like our rates, go somewhere else - there are plenty of other hotel around." The receptionist even refused to let me talk with the manager, whose name I obtained from Booking.com. What a great way to drum up business! DISCLOSURE: I explored this property in early October, but declined to stay there, as I am a non-smoker and consider their policies and attitude repugnant!.
Quality of the motel and clean was good, but when I went to the check in they said my credit card # was invalid and they cancel my reservation without notice, but why I have the confirmation # that everything was ok. I had no choice when I get there and I finished paying $60.00 more for over night , definitely not worth it.
The room was ok but the bathroom needs a good cleaning. The toilet was leaking. The track that the shower doors slide on was filthy. The sheets and towels were clean. Parking was free, and breakfast was free. The workers were pleasant.
This place is about right if your looking to stay for the night. It's a great location right off the GWB. The rooms are nicely averaged with jacuzzi. Get the big jacuzzi rooms they just overall look better. I would recommend if it's just for the night. This isn't a hotel so don't expect much but the staff is wonderful and the rooms are durable. Comfortable beds and clean space.
CLEAN, affordable, quiet and good location before enter to NY. Try the jacuzzi's rooms at the 2nd floor (next building) is huge and the best for the price. Coffee and bagels included for breakfast, that's a must. I recommend this place for couple or for business!
I have to agree with some of the reviews that cleanliness is not their forte. I have to confirm stained sheets and hair in the bathroom. It is definitely negligence since it could be easily fixed. Going back to the beginning, the motel is conveniently located in a pretty decent neighborhood with a lot of Asian restaurants. If you came to visit New York, it takes approximately half an hour by bus to NJ Transit on Manhattan. From there it is approximately 20-30 minutes to Times Square. The motel offers breakfast but I would not bother. There is a bakery on a gas station nearby. Overall, I can recommend the motel if going and asking for clean sheets is not a problem for you.
My experience was beyond horrific, I booked for Aug 7 to the 9th through hotels.com, we Arrived the 7th and from the second we walked through the door we had the absolte worst greeting from the manager named Nish (only found out he was the manager from the other desk clerk, because when we asked to speak to the manager he claimed the manager was not there when in fact it was him., I have never in my life experienced such horrible Customer service. So much so that I called Hôtels.com and cancelled my reservation and went to another motel.. I strongly suggest booking elsewhere.
We arrived 8pm to be given the wrong room. We had just driven 6 hours to a country we didn't know well and relied on booking.com whilst booking. We were then moved to another room - apparently we needed to pay more for a non smoking room (even though we booked it ) but it was barely possible to breathe in there for the dust and dirt. The furniture was dated and broken. The walls were stained as were the bed sheets and towels - the bathroom was filthy and the floor covered in hair and towers of grime. We asked for our room to be checked and some men came and said the maid would do it properly in the morning !! No help to us , the sheets were changed and the guy did a quick clean with spray of the bathroom floor. We were left with an antibacterial spray to freshens up the room - it was however impossible to do that. The hotel looked like it had never been cleaned since the 70's ( this is no exaggeration) the grime build up everywhere. I cried so much as they had no other alternative and refused to refund us. The area was dodgy and we later found out that night used by working girls. There was loud music playing until 4am and lots of swearing going on next door. Feared for our safety we didn't step out the room until the morning. Needless to say no of us slept. In the morning I went to the front desk - the woman there was rude and fobbed is off saying the duty manager wasn't there and we should have booked correctly - I showed here our reservation printout clearly stating a non smoking room. She wouldn't comment on the filthy room or the grime build up anywhere - they had a sign up saying strictly no refunds. They stick to this so never book here. I asked her what would she do I my situation and her reply was I would have never stayed in a motel like this !! She wouldn't give her name and only gave the Manager's name as Nish. He conveniently wasn't on duty until after we left. This says it all. I think I've seen better shanti houses then this place. Do yourself and your family a big favour NEVER STAY HERE…
I booked this for one night before we went to Manhattan. It was the worst decision I ever made to stay here. The room was smelly and not cleaned. The beds were full of body hair as was the bathroom. I don't think the sheets had been changed or the towels as they were stained and covered in hair. I complained to the manager and he sent someone round to change the sheets but the room was a nightmare. As I was waiting to complain. People were booking rooms for 3 hours only which I thought was strange. But realised later when I could not sleep for the noise from the room next door that it was prostitutes using the rooms next door. The worst night ever we have had and the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. DONT EVER BOOK HERE.
