I can only answer portions of your question as we took a shuttle to the train station (Redburn, I think) and did not leave from the mall. (By the way it's a nice mall.) The train ride did not feel very long, 30 mins or less. You arrive at Penn station in NYC. I personally prefer the train and subways over buses and taxis. If you stay at this hotel and the shuttle is not available to pick up or drop off BEWARE the car service or taxi is VERY costly for the short trip back to the hotel.
