We chose this place because we had an event in a nearby town. At $250 a night, it was far from being a budget-priced property, but we took it because it had availability. No breakfast was included, although other rooms seemed to be able to take advantage of the meager Continental offerings in the Office building. We noticed a musty-smoky smell during our stay, but attributed it initially to the age of the building and the fact that unfortunately, smoking and non-smoking rooms are adjacent. It wasn’t till we were leaving that we noticed a small smoking room sign on the door. I thought the error in booking was mine, so I did not complain. Upon arriving home and checking my actual reservation, I saw that Room 100 where we were placed, was a smoking room and we had requested non-smoking. This was clearly written on the confirmation email from the property. Also know that if you need reliable internet service, this is not the place for you. Neither of could stay on the internet and I found myself using my phone’s data plan. Once again, because we were gone during the day and returning at night, we did not complain, but did tell the manager when we checked out. We also discovered that one of the high hat lights did not turn off and once again, it was late and we had to sleep with a flickering light on. On a positive note, the staff and management were helpful, the bed comfortable and the location was fine. However, the $250 a night was very excessive given the fact that the room’s floor was gritty, the internet service was poor, and several plugs for charging devices did not seem to work. Add to that the smell of the room and the flickering light and it was not a great experience. I cannot recommend this property to others at this time.

Due to the need for a room, I spent one week in the Red Roof Inn, Quality Suites and Crystal Inn. If you’re spending time at the Jersey Shore the Crystal Inn is a hidden Gem. The rooms are spacious, modern and very clean. Joseph was extremely helpful. Even with renovations going on, the place was spotless.

Receptionist was very nice that checked us in and lobby was decent. That is where the pleasantries stopped. Scary as all get out at night. Motel walkways to rooms are in disrepair. People coming out of the bushes into the parking lot at night...WTH? They make you sign a waiver you will not smoke in room for any reason yet the room reeked of smoke. Then as we were deciding whether or not we could we live with the smoke smell since it was already so late, a couple roaches came running across the floor. We left; didn't even unpack the car. No way we were staying. Place looks nothing like the renovation photos pictured, which is why I gave them the benefit of the doubt when booking. Someone else reviewed "like putting lipstick on a pig". Yeah, a dead, decaying pig maybe. Now my 18 yr old son refers to the trip as that time I tried to get him to stay at the Crystal Meth Inn...

Booked at the last minute so didn't get a chance to do adequate research. The website looks great but the room was far from it. The receptionist was nice and the pool is very good but the room was in rough shape and genuinely unsafe. The molding behind the door lock had been broken in and replaced with a section as if it had been recently kicked in and then hastily repaired. The bathroom door was also in this condition as well. The carpet on the wrap around terrace was old, wavy and pocked by cigarette burns. There are benches outside each room with ash trays next to each one. A jet of water from the shower head noticeably sprayed over the curtain soaking the wall/toilet area when turned on. This is not a 200 dollar a night hotel. I did not feel safe staying with my wife and daughter so we left. It was stressful to find another hotel that night since it was getting late but later when we got there and I began to read more reviews I was happy with my decision. There are a few hotels with a similar name in the area so make sure you know which is which.

It's not the fanciest place, but the rooms are clean. The pool was very clean and the complex felt safe for our family. The staff were wonderful and friendly. Josh checked us in early, but only after making sure our room was ready for us. When about 39 pounds of sand fell out of our swimsuits when we got back from the beach the staff fetched me a broom right away. Yes, there was an old faint smell of cigarette smoke, but they are clearly working on renovating the building and I expect that the place will be even better the next time we go. We had a lot of fun there and are planning to go back again next year. Keep up the great work Josh and crew!

I would stay here again for sure. For the type of hotel it is I would give it a 5 star. It’s not fancy or a luxury type of place. But it was a super clean room. No filthy carpet to walk on. The hardwood type floor was clean. It was not the time of year to use the pool but it looked lovely, they even have a gazebo near the pool. The property was quiet and it doesn’t sit right on a main road, so not a lot of traffic noise. The mini fridge and microwave were both clean and worked as they should . The toilet and tub /shower were immaculate. Also the bathroom isn’t directly in the sleeping area. So it gave a little more privacy and distance. The mattress was decent and the bedding was clean and crisp . If I were to complain about anything it would be about the pillows. They are not like typical bed pillows. We were in town to see a Joan Jett concert in Red Bank. Is was about a 15 minute uber ride to the theater. I would highly recommend the Americana Diner and Federico’s Pizza if you get hungry, also there is a Dunkin within walking distance from the hotel. To sum this review up it was a very good stay and I would have not changed anything about it. I will stay again for another concert.
