I had been planning a birthday getaway for my boyfriend for about a month but because of the unpredictable weather in early March we didn't make any reservations in case we didn't want to spend hours on the road in bad weather. At the last...More

Thank you! We're so glad that you enjoyed your birthday celebration here. It's very romantic to be "snowed in" at our country inn. We hope that you'll come back soon!
The facilities are very charming and our was room was delightfully comfortable. However, the warmth and friendliness offered to us from the moment we stepped in the front door is what sets this Inn apart from others... the hospitality was truly exceptional! The dinner menu...More

What a lovely compliment! This review will be posted where every staff member can see it and know that theirs was a job well done. We're glad that you enjoyed your time here with us, and thank you for taking the time to write such...More
The name suggests a quaint old place, which this isn't at all. The exterior suggests an upscale retirement home or the like, and the decor reminds me rather of the same. However, the resident cat (serenely napping in the "In" box on the reception counter)...More

Thanks so much, we're glad that you stopped for dinner. We're open 6 days a week from 5:30 until 8:30 and we hope that you'll come again!
We stayed for one night in October and were very impressed with the whole experience (bar the traffic through the night on the main road outside). This of course is subject to individual opinion but for us was the only negative point (and one addressed...More

We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Yes, being on a main road is a blessing and a curse; we are in a very convenient location, but there are times when we do have road noise. As you said, the rooms in the back...More
This is a rustic setting for a New England fall getaway but the lack of warmth upon checking in and checking out was disappointing. Our room was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The view out of our window was quaint and the...More

Thank you for taking the time to give us some honest feedback. I'm so sorry that you didn't feel welcome here, and I can't offer any excuses for that. Also, the breakfast arriving cold was inexcusable. I will be sure to address all of these...More

We have always felt each and every room was very private. There are only a limited number of rooms at the Inn so there isn't going to be huge number of people. Views are nice but not spectacular, probably those facing the rear are the most peaceful. You might consider a room with a separate living room as you can gain some more space and intimacy in your own getaway.
Do make dinner reservations in advance at the Inn. The food has always been superb. (There is a night or two they don't serve in dinner so just check that in advance - thinking it is Sunday....
And a rose on the bed is a lovely touch.
