Karen and Steve have created a very welcoming and relaxing environment, distinguished by reserved taste. We stay in 1-2 BBs per year and this is the most tastefully decorated one we've ever seen. Staff are highly competent and professional, while also being friendly and sensible. Definitely recommended for adult getaways.

Over the years we have developed a style of decorating that we like to think of as casual luxury. The painting in your room is of the view from your window at the peak of fall colors. We like to support our local artist. Thank you for appreciating our sense of style. In my opinion too many B&Bs are stuck...

Thank you, Karen, Steve, chef Val, massage therapist, Susan , Jeremy and Elke and Savannah for the most relaxing , cozy getaway ever! We really enjoyed the Richardson room in the main house - sitting areas, fireplace , jacuzzi tub , nice views and beautiful comfortable king size bed !!! The culinary experience was outstanding - as good as our...

My husband and I spent last weekend at Sugar Hill. We had a wonderful time! I chose the prelude to Christmas and it was terrific. Rock Estates for sleigh ride, tree cutting and wreath was perfect for bringing us into the holiday spirit. The gourmet four course dinner was amazing! I suggest the Caesar salad. It is encased in crusted parmesan...

We had only one night in the Perennial room, but after a long day of driving and leaf peeping, we felt so comfortable in our cottage that we didn't want to go out for dinner! Unfortunately, it was a Wednesday, the dining room was closed, and the nearby towns are very small. So you may want to plan your stay...

Perennial is one of our most popular rooms. The furniture was custom made for us in Quebec and the original painting is by a Sugar Hill artist. The natural travertine stone in the bathroom gives the room a timeless quality. Our restaurant is open 5 nights (Thursday-Monday) a week by reservations. It is important to give the chef a couple...

We really enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous inn in the white mountains. Karen and Steve have got this place just right - they were both welcoming as hosts together with their wonderful dog Katie who came to visit us in our cottage on a couple of occasions. Stayed in Forest View Cottage which had absolutely everything you might need...

Our Four Course Dinner is what really distinguishes us from the other Inns and B&Bs in the White Mountains. Some people are afraid that it is too much food but most guests tell us the portions are perfect. It is about quality not quantity. Our wine list has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. After an enjoyable dinner all...

Great inn that has been restored and situated in a quiet location. Comfortable rooms - although we had one of the smaller rooms in the main house there are larger rooms and suites available. Good to have a coffee machine in the room. Comfortable communal areas with plenty of information of the local area and things to do. There is...

Thank you for staying with us. We think every B&B/Inn should have in-room coffee and breakfast choice.

Steve and Karen were unbelievable hosts. Even though we only stayed for one night it was a great experience. The dinner was scrumptious, the dinner was one of the best meals we've ever had. The room was so full of charm and character. I'm a huge Betty Davis fan and loved the time we spend in the room. I understand...

That is right. The movie star, Bette Davis was a frequent guest at The Sugar Hill Inn. The room that is now known as Lafayette was her favorite. Thank you for staying with us.

We stayed at Sugar Hill Inn for two days. The rooms were very nice and well equipped. They even have an espresso machine in the room. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Some rooms are better than others. We had dinner one evening there. The food quality was very good and very tasty. The dinner takes about 2.5 hrs...

Steven and Karen Allen have been running this fabulous, authentic, historic B&B for a decade, and the facility is fabulous. Sugar Hill Inn is located on a rise overlooking the mountains around Franconia.
