My family has been on the road for over a week touring the northeast coast. I made some mistakes with my reservation at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth on our way from Martha's Vineyard to Bar Harbor. Ryan was the only person working the front desk but she took her time explaining how best for me to correct my reservation through my corporate travel agency, she efficiently helped several other guests while I contacted my corporate folks, and by the time I got things sorted on my end, she had two rooms ready for us that matched our requests. The whole time she was very friendly to all the customers passing through the lobby. At one point, asked if everyone in New Hampshire is as nice as she. Ryan's terrific attitude made what could have been an unpleasant night for me and my family into a terrific experience. My interaction with Ryan is the reason people need to take road trips and see different parts of this great country. On the Road Again.

Hotel's Favourite
Check in was smooth... our room was ready a bit early and we got to go in... Hallways clean, room clean... Bed comfortable, fridge, microwave, Kerig coffee maker... TV stations available okay...lamps had outlets but not USB ports... towels good size and soft... tub floor did not have slip resistance I used floor towel mat (I am not falling). Full service breakfast; good tasting and very filling. Some parking in front but plenty of parking in back. Staff was very courteous. Hotel lobby very nice... coffee and water always available and cookies too.. computer to use with printer right there. Had to deal with a fire alarm going off due to maintance oops fire fighters responded asap... inconvenience but glad to know they have safety in order. Right off roundabout up the short hill close to everything but away from noise. Maine was no farer than going to downtown. They have 6 floors but the 6th floor is like 5 separate rooms each having a living room. Have to walk down the hall and up 2 short flights to get there. Really great for a large familyl vacation... Our room was on 5th floor next to exit door down the hall from elevator no noise not even when someone uses the stairs! I recommended this hotel.

I've been to this property twice in June and July 2021. It is a standard Holiday Inn quality but travelers should be aware of two things: 1. The pool is no longer heated and is freezing cold 2. There is no dedicated business workspace where you can actually accomplish any work. In the lobby there is a single computer desk right next to the TV, and after 11pm all of the common rooms are locked, so there is nowhere to sit and work at a desk quietly and comfortably without the noise of the lobby activity and TV. If you need to leave the room at night to get work done while your family sleeps, look for another hotel to stay at.`

Great location, right off the roundabout, and close to Market St area. We weren’t in the room much, but it was nice and clean. This is an older Holiday Inn. Bathroom and bedroom were good size. We ate breakfast at the Roundabout Diner next door. You can walk to it, but you have to walk down a little path, which was pretty steep. In order to drive to it, you would have to go through the roundabout, which is crazy at times (with traffic).

This is a nice comfortable hotel with large rooms. It is an older hotel and shows. Particularly the washrooms could use an update. However, the staff is very friendly and makes you want to come back. In fact, I stayed here 3 times in April.
