Great old building that has been updated at a good location for walking into the heart of town. The room was very nice, with all great updates. The iPad in the room for information on the hotel was cool too. The breakfast was very good also.

My husband and I stayed in Portsmouth for our 1st wedding anniversary. The only regret I have about The Hotel Portsmouth was not staying longer. From the kindness of the staff, to the perfect location, to the jaw dropping beauty of the hotel design, every element of our stay was perfect. We arrived from our flight a little early, and the... This was such a great place to stay! Found this hotel while on an East Coast trip. 5 star experience from beginning to end. We hardly ever stay in hotels anymore (we like apartment rentals), so it says a lot that we loved it. The room was spacious and clean, breakfast was really good and the guys at the front... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Portsmouth. Our hosts Patrick and Josh were friendly and so accommodating. Our room was clean, bright, and spacious, and the breakfast "tidbits" were creative and tasty and just filling enough to tide us over till lunch at one of many great restaurants nearby. Though located on a fairly busy intersection, the hotel was... More

We stayed in the Penthouse with our two teenagers. We had a completely separate room, they had a large room with double beds and a fairly large living room. It was really a great space. The hotel staff were awesome, the beds very comfortable, a great location in town. The breakfasts were unique, very fresh and not your usual fare.... More

This place is great, walking distance from great restaurants and really cute town to walk around. The breakfast is different but really cute and unique. We were just looking to stop somewhere on a long road trip but loved it so much we definitely will return.

This hotel has a small boutique feel to it! Recently renovated older home is furnished with a fun combination of antiques and modern mid century. It also has an elevator which is handy for lugging luggage! Breakfast was not a hot meal, but was fine. The coffee was a nice blend, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels and a lovey blueberry bread.... More
