We reserved the group campsite. The grounds were so trimmed and clean we had to go into the woods to find kindling for the fire. Even the outhouse was clean! It was even stocked with plenty of toilet paper and didn't have any smell, amazing! The whole campground had beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Our site was extremely...

A few years ago, my scout troop was planning a canoe trip down the Connecticut river from the First Connecticut Lake, at the base of the campground. We arrived during a torrential rain and sought out Ramblewood after the State Park sites were under water. We arrived looking for a couple of sites to pitch our tents. The manager saw...

it doesn't get any quiet than this. If you like to be in the middle of practically nowhere than this is the place to be. We brought our motor home and had a very spacious spot. There are plenty of hiking trails just off the campsites. We did see some deer. There are some nearby geocaching. We took the boat...

We've stayed at Ramblewood Cabins twice, once in 2011 and once in 2014. Both times, we stayed in Cabin 6 (the one close to the front office). We absolutely love it here! It's so quiet and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It's a great place to see Luna Moths as well. Boating around First Connecticut Lake is great thing to...

After a long drive up all I wanted was to get out of my car and relax.I didn't want to think nor move. Once we checked in and got our key to cabin #1 from the office up on the hill, we drove back down to our cabin. Off street parking is great. Our porch was very welcoming. All I...

Ive been going to Ramblewood since 2002. The location, accommodations, cleanliness, and comfort are top notch. I have stayed at many other places in Pittsburg and Ramblewood is at the top of the list. Paul, the owner, is knowledgeable about everything Pittsburg. From snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, local events, hiking trails, you name it. He will go out of his way...

I was not happy with my recent stay. The web site does not specify pricing and they charged me for "summer" rates even though we stayed in the fall. The mattresses are so old and sunken in you all but have to hold onto the side in order not to fall into the middle. The towels are so thread bare...

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback, and we’re sorry your stay was not consistent with your expectations. The good news is that we are already in the process of addressing these concerns: As we discussed shortly after you checked out, I have updated the price listing on the website so the season dates are more visible and...

I just spent the last 4 days camping at one of the most clean campgrounds I have ever seen; the bathroom, the showers, the grounds, even the outhouse. The staff was incredible knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I just wish I didn't live so far away, because I would definitely use this as a regular campground. If you are looking for...

Wife and I traveled to Pittsburg, New Hampshire in our class B motorhome. First time to this campground...in search of Moose. The location is superb, overlooking the First Connecticut Lake. We camped on site #25, tucked back a bit in the woods. The weather was great; although a little cooler than normal for the end of June. We met several...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in 170,000 acres of protected forest, Ramblewood Cabins & Campground offers a scenic and relaxed destination for all four seasons. During the winter, snowmobile enthusiasts value 200 miles of groomed mountain trails accessible from their doorstep. In the summer, our guests appreciate the stunning views of Mt. Magalloway and First Connecticut Lake as much as the hot showers after a day of hiking, hunting, fishing, or kayaking in one of our rental boats. After they've played a game of pool in the game room and bought a treat from our office store, kids especially enjoy our high speed Wifi and Verizon cellphone service. If you're looking for something with the comforts of home, our cabins boast queen sized beds, kitchens equipped with cookware and appliances, as well as satellite television. ... more   less
