Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is both good and bad. On arrival, we were disappointed to find that the hot tub wasn’t working as this was one reason we chose to stay at this hotel. Our room was ok, superficially clean, with clean sheets and towels, but I felt that the room could do with a deep clean. We were on the 3rd floor, I went to the ice machine to find that it didn’t work and the bottled drinks dispenser was empty. I went to reception to ask for water and was directed to a little area with bottled drinks and some snacks. I was able to buy a bottle of water from there. So first impressions were not that favorable. That’s the disappointing part. Here’s the good. The next morning we went down to breakfast and were very happy with what we found. The breakfast room was warm and welcoming and the hostess, Barb, was very nice, greeting us as went in. She was so friendly and helpful, she made a lovely start to our day. The food was excellent, plenty of it, both hot and cold, and served in a clean and tidy area. Upon leaving, the receptionist was very pleasant and friendly. She said goodbye to us and thanked us for staying at the Hampton. A little while later I realized that I had left my coat in the room, so I called and spoke to the same receptionist. She was very helpful and arranged to send my coat on to me. So, after a disappointing start, our stay ended on a good note.

Hotel's Favourite
We continue to return again and again due to the courtesy of the staff - at all levels - the comfortable accommodations and the details that make this a friendly family oriented hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. Wear and tear noted on the room we stayed in - I had thought that a room renovations/refresh had been planned. Not sure why that did not happen. Bathroom clean, necessities all provided. The pool and slides more than served the purpose for the kids in our party. Staff at the pool was attentive and helpful in monitoring kids and making sure everyone was being safe. I agree with other posts in the fact that additional seating would be nice for adults - another suggestion would be some shelves to put down glasses, and small items. Looking at some of the negative posts about the pool, I am not sure where the hotel advertises something different than what it is. There is a wading pool with a few small slides and water activities and the bigger pool that the two large slides empty into. Always greeted with a smile and hello. We always look forward to returning!

The staff was very friendly. I understand being casual is a thing, but to me, the front desk staff seemed a little too casually dressed, but I suppose getting anyone these days to work in this sector is an accomplishment. I'm sure they were understaffed for cleaning as we had 2 rooms but one wasn't ready until about 6pm for 3pm check in. The rooms need an upgrade. They're dingy, there was SO much crud on the bathroom and room doors, it was disgusting, I washed them off myself on and around the handles. There was something splattered on the bathroom door, which if there was an attempt to clean, would come off. The grout is past its prime and everything just seemed 'icky'. The furniture in the lobby was all dirty on the tops of all the chairs and couches from just too many people leaning on them, but just EW. The floors are paper thin, you can hear every single footstep above you and when you're there (unintentionally as it was for a wedding) on a long school holiday weekend and it's sold out due to it having an indoor 'waterpark', you're going to hear the jumps of every single excited kid in the room above you. The location is great, you're practically right next to the outlets and obviously lots of restaurants right outside your door. The entrance sign is pretty much completely blocked by trees in both directions so watch for the McDonalds to know where to turn into the parking lot. When it's a booked weekend, the parking lot doesn't look like it can accommodate all cars, it was very full. I'm not sure how this compares to other chains 'on the strip' but avoid this one if you can, a disappointment for a Hilton, but I know some hotels can charge what they want 'in season' no matter what shape their in and this is one of them.

Barb and Deb were great! The breakfast was very well kept. Clean, neat, and plenty of options. Warm and friendly staff. Would recommend. Rooms were clean. My dog really enjoyed the stay after a long day on the trail.

This review is more challenging because some aspects of this property were excellent. I hate to leave a bad review when there are good parts, but I figure they can’t fix issues if they don’t know they are broken. Pros: Very friendly staff. Every encounter was met with warmth and friendliness. The breakfast area featured a standard Hampton setup, but was staffed by two people who did an amazing job. Everything was super clean at breakfast as well. The water park was a lot of fun. Fun slides and friendly attendants. I would book here just for the slides. Cons: The property is dated. Worse, it seems to have lighting issues. Hallways were dark along with the rooms. Despite all lights working, it was dark and dreary. The bathroom almost felt like a haunted house it was dark. Again, not for lack of operating lights, just maybe amount of lights in general. Plus the older brown colors don’t give it a light fresh feel. The room, 418, smelled of wet St. Bernard or something, likely due to ages of wet people coming from the water park, and lack of carpet cleaning. Bed was so uncomfortable, worst I have experienced, and I do stay in a lot of hotels. Bed frame creaked with every movement. An earlier review indicated new beds in March of ‘22, but clearly not in this room. Room was just dirty. Didn’t realize it until I looked at the socks I had on. Animal hair, dirt, it was gross. If they skip this, what else? Bed had blood stains on the side. Was under the fitted sheet, but as the sheet came off one night, it was visible. It was on the mattress cover, but why wouldn’t a housekeeper see this? With such filthy carpet and the stained mattress, I was grossed out. I feel bad even leaving a review like this, but again if they don’t know it’s broken, they can’t fix it. This property needs some deep cleaning and updating. I would give it another chance based on how friendly the employees were, but would hope they they will be able to update it soon. Hilton in general needs to revisit policies. The no housekeeping thing is hurting the brand. I have switched much of my business to Marriott as I am getting properties of what Hilton used to be.

Old Hotel, no maintenance. Everything wrong. Carpets very old, room completely dated. Dirty. No housekeeping (we stayed for 3 nights) and they said, IF we wanted the housekeeping we should tell them. The pandemia is over! There was no housekeeping because it is one lady for the floor. And is impossible for 1 person to do all that job. On the second day we asked for the housekeeping but no one came to our room. I left my cel phone to drop down and trying to find it, there was a medicine on the floor from someone else. I was very upset with the cleaning, the room maintenance. The breakfast was ok. I have a lot of reviews. None are like this. I don’t complain about the hotels. But this was awful!

Very comfortable rooms, and amazing staff who are helpful, courteous and professional. For families with children, the pool and slides is a bonus, as well as the complimentary breakfast. Will definitely stay here again. Great location.

My family had a wonderful experience at the Hampton Inn. My kids especially loved the water park and the complimentary breakfast buffet. The staff was exceptionally friendly, responsive, and kind. We come back here every year!

Welcoming, friendly, lots of smiles from the staff. The room is great. It;s clean and everything works. At breakfast - Barb is great. We are retired and travel a great deal. We try to stop at Hampton Inns because they are consistently good. This property sets the standard for all Hampton Inns - and for all mid range family motels. Great job!

This location is great for both Story Land and Santa's Village. It has a small kids pool with slides about 1-1.5 ft deep (life jackets too) a larger pool for older kids about 3.5 ft deep with 2 slides; a hot tub for adults only. The room we were in was great for a family of 5. Which seems to be the size more families are these days. Room had a fridge, microwave, sink and counter. Bathroom sink outside of shower and toilet area so people can still get ready.
