After a day hiking in the area, we checked into the Colonial Motel. What we liked: clean, comfortable bed, large bathroom, and the price. What we disliked? NOTHING! It was pretty prefect for our needs the way it was. The decor is what you would expect of a mom and pop. Some would call it dated. I call it country which I prefer over modern and sterile. No matter what you like, you can agree on the price and the cleanliness.
I wavered between 3 and 4 stars but I cant put my finger on why. The room had a spa bath - beside the bed, we didn't use it. The bed was massive and VERY comfy which is very important to me. The place was clean and in the middle of main street so lots of shops and a few restaurants within walking distance. It was also very quiet, never heard anyone around us. I was pleasantly surprised with the room when I arrived because the booking pics make it look a bit more run down, but it was decent and I probably would stay again. Very central.
Location was great. One of the beds had a sprung mattress and caused discomfort. Bathroom was good. No breakfast provided. Staff was helpful in providing information on dining options. Check-in and check-out were easy. Decor was fine, not antiquated.
My wife and I are repeat customers, going back many years. However, this time we were there for four nights; the other stays were always only overnight. The location is great, with two super breakfast spots a few minutes away by foot: Priscilla's and Peaches. The village is a 12 minute walk.
My family and I rented 4 rooms which were all clean with nice size tv’s I had a handicap room which was very nice and the bathroom was great also nice outdoor pool and so close to everything you could walk if you wanted and the staff are friendly and helpful
Stayed here for one night and lived to regret it The reception staff were nice enough and inside the room was clean but there was a smell of urine. Car parking spaces are outside the room (one per room) Value for money. And will not be staying again
I was a little concerned when first booking this, but we were pleasantly surprised! The room was very clean, and the pool was as well. Our fridge was leaking but the maintenance man was super. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a good stay at the Colonial Motel the night of July 4. First of all, the price was very reasonable--one of the cheapest in the area--and the location on US 302 right in between the outlet mall and downtown was terrific--mamy places are walkable from here. It has a large, distinctive old sign that makes it easy to spot. Being near downtown made it a good place to watch the fireworks from the front lawn--many of the guests were there with us. This is an old fashioned motel where you park right at the door. It is not hard to find the rooms, as there are only 16 of them and they are all in order. Each room has one numbered space. I was a little apprehensive approaching our room--the outside window was in need of cleaning--but was very impressed once we got inside. It's been remodeled very welll and featured distinctive peacock clock on the wall! Everything was clean (except the old bathtub plug had a notch out of it--not a big deal) . The bed was comfortable, and my wife raved about how comfortable she found the sheets. The view out the back window of the pool and mountains was well above average. The checkout of 10 am is earlier than I am used to. And, unfortunately, we never got to use the pool, which was frustrating. It closes at dusk--and we were busy until then--and does not open again until 11 am, after checkout time, which was very unfortunate. If you expect to take a swim your last (and in our case, only) morning there, you cannot do that. That was disappointing. Otherwise, it was a superb value, and my wife and I would be happy to stay there again!…
The Colonial was a great deal and great location. Esp. if you're in No. Conway when it's crowded and you can avoid that traffic jam that always happens on the main drag. The room was clean and big, always good to have a fridge, bathroom was also clean and big with good products and ok towels. We did have quite the issue with the shower. If you took a 5 min shower, you were okay. Otherwise, the hot and cold water went nuts fluctuating. We reported that to the owner who I assume was going to take care of it. Being a motel, you do have the chance of loud people next to you or smoking outside which is a drag but that's expected.
Great little motel in an awesome location, room was clean with fresh towels and all you need for toiletries, all shops are within walking distance, would definitely stay here again, probably ask for a street facing room though as the poolside rooms have guests above you and it can be noisy.
