My family of 4 (wife and 2 children, 13 and 10) and I just returned from a 5-night stay at Cranmore Mountain Lodge (December 2022), and we had an amazing time!! Due to a flight cancellation by Southwest which ruined our trip south, we were left with no plans and made a very last minute decision to drive north to North Conway, New Hampshire. Last minute rooms for the week between Christmas and New Year's were very hard to come by, and after a quick Google search, my wife found Cranmore Mountain Lodge. The inn had a 4-person (2 beds) room available starting the following day, so without knowing much about the lodge, we booked a room for 4 nights and packed our bags. We had such an amazing time at the lodge that we extended our stay to a 5th night before our trip was over! Cranmore Mountain Lodge is a Bed-and-Breakfast that holds some interesting history for a baseball fan; Babe Ruth used to visit often! The current owners, Shirley and Wilson, purchased the lodge a little over a year ago, and they are a perfect fit! They are 2 of the nicest people we've ever met; they are the PERFECT hosts. They were very attentive to my family, and they wanted to make sure that we really enjoyed our stay! We spent a lot of time speaking with Shirley and Wilson, and by the end of our stay, we knew that we had made 2 new friends, and thus our checkout-day ended with hugs! Some older reviews mentioned that breakfast was ordered through texts, but this is not the case with the current owners. Breakfast was served starting at 7am every day (continental), and the hot foods were served between 7:30am-9am. Breakfast is cooked-to-order and takes place in the main building (which is where you order), and it rotates on a 3-day schedule (Day 1: eggs, Day 2: regular/blueberry/chocolate chip pancakes with local maple syrup, Day 3: French toast with local maple syrup). In addition to the main dish, you have a choice of either bacon, sausage, or a fruit cup. There's also coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, hot chocolate, and a separate espresso machine that my wife loved so much that she now wants one! Throughout the day, cookies are set out in the kitchen area. Breakfast was always delicious and was served by Shirley, Wilson, and their additional employee (I don't know her name). The lodge consists of a main building and a secondary building (right next to it). I believe there are 19 total rooms between the 2 buildings. In addition to the breakfast area and rooms, the main building also includes a beautiful TV room and a beautiful fire place room in which my family and I spent every night playing cards (Wilson was always available to light a fire in the fireplace for us every night). There is also a kitchen area with a large dining table, a full-size fridge, a microwave, bottles of water/soda, and plates/utensils, all for use by guests of the lodge. The TV room contains wine glasses/corkscrew; we made use of the wine glasses each night!. The main entrance contains a piano and a guitar, both of which my daughter loved to play! Outside, there is a pool (closed in the winter) and a 4-person hot tub which Wilson opened up for us at night. Our room was in the secondary building on the second floor in a section known as "The Loft". Our room consisted of 2 double beds, an en-suite bathroom with shower, television, adjustable thermostat, dresser, coat rack, and an air conditioner. Shirley offered to clean our room every day, but we definitely didn't feel it was necessary! The location of the lodge is great! It is a short few-minute drive from downtown North Conway which allows you to be close to downtown without being near the main road. When driving on Rt. 16 in either direction and approaching downtown North Conway, the turns to head to the lodge are far enough from both sides of the downtown area that you don't have to sit in the downtown traffic! :) The lodge is a 2-minute (if that!) drive from the entrance to the Cranmore Mountain Ski/Tubing area, so it was beyond convenient for us as one of our days was spent snow tubing. The location of the lodge was extremely peaceful. We have stayed in the North Conway area numerous times. Over previous trips, we have stayed at multiple bed-and-breakfasts and hotels in the North Conway/Jackson area. While we've always had fun, our stay at Cranmore Mountain Lodge was exactly what we needed: peaceful, relaxing, and a great escape for wonderful family time. We never expected to enjoy ourselves as much as we did, and we definitely didn't think we'd be returning home after making 2 new friends. Thanks, Shirley and Wilson, for such an amazing stay and amazing hospitality. We will definitely be returning to Cranmore Mountain Lodge in the near future!!…
My wife Bonnie and I returned to the Cranmore Mountain Lodge to see how the new renovations went. While we always loved the lodge, it is now so much more beautiful. Shirley and Wilson did an amazing job with the remodeling and they were fantastic hosts as well. The lodge is quiet, well located and a perfect location for a visit to the North Conway area. We can't wait to return. Thank you Shirley and Wilson Dave & Bonnie
Shirley and Wilson were amazing hosts! The Inn is beautifully renovated! The grounds are peaceful. Close to everything i.e. shopping skiing , hiking but off the main road if you want some quiet relaxing time. Thank you for a great weekend! We definitely will return!
What a find, my husband and I stayed here overnight and Shirley and Wilson have an amazing property. Everything is very modern and has ease of use, from checking in with a text to full beautiful breakfast the next morning, Hot tub, Pool, fire pit even s'mores.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and 2 kids. The staffs here are friendly and give good recommendations on things to do and where to eat. The lodge is quietly located few streets away from busy main road Rt.16, 10 mins from storyland and mins away to the outlets and restaurants. All communication are done online via text message and apps, from check-in to ordering our free breakfast and other room related services. The property has a strong Wi-Fi network, it helps where Verizon doesn’t have a good coverage in the area. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, the room is good size with a large 50” smart TV where I can keep my kids busy playing coco melon. The lodge has brand new deck where my family enjoyed breakfast in the morning outdoor overlooking the pond. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again in the future. …
