This is a very nice place to stay if you are visiting the area. It is a great location to drive around the area and see the beautiful mountains and fall foliage. The owners were extremely helpful and gave great recommendations for restaurants, places to purchase needed fleece jackets, and activities. The included breakfast was outstanding!
Becky and Charlie are consumate hosts. The Inn is very centerly located, close to shopping, skiing and hiking. If your a xc skier or snowshoer, you can step out the back door of the Inn and ski the beautifully groomed trails, with outstanding views.
We had a great time at the 1785 Inn. Came up for Labor Day weekend to enjoy the last bit of summer in the mountains. Charlie and staff are very friendly and made us feel like it was our home. The Inn itself is a charming old building that is afforded a gorgeous view of the mountains. It was wonderful having breakfast while enjoying this most wonderful scenery! The location is perfect as it's just outside North Conway Village and you don't have to face constant traffic, nice and quiet. We especially enjoyed our nightcaps in the bar and meeting other fun travelers. Thanks Charlie for the great conversations and looking forward to seeing you again soon!!!
We booked a Bike The Whites tour through Charlie at the 1785 inn. We stayed here on our first night. The inn was beautiful. Couldn’t have asked for a better start to our trip. It is close to town so many restaurants for dinner are just a few minutes away. The views are breathtaking. And the homemade breakfast was delicious. Thanks Charlie and Becky for a great stay and memorable Bike the Whites trip.
My husband and I recently stayed at the 1785 Inn for a long weekend. As a 22 year hospitality veteran, the owners of this property reconfirmed for me that the people make your stay special. Charlie, Becky and Jenny made our visit incredibly memorable with daily chats over breakfast, by the fire or in the bar. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the many conversations with other guests. The view out of our room was directly toward Mount Washington, which we witnessed snow covered and on a rare clear day to the peak. Each morning the breakfast choices left us excited about the nexts day's surprises. They serve a lovely pastry each morning along with your breakfast choice. Not sure how the bacon comes out so perfectly, and it is delicious. If you are so lucky to be offered the blueberry coffee cake, jump on it. I ate everything on my plate each day (to be polite!)You will not leave hungry and will be ready for whatever the day's activities hold. The location at the end of the town is quiet and less trafficked, which is nice. We look forward to returning during other seasons to enjoy another wonderful visit.…
This was my second time to stay at The 1785 Inn & it was just as wonderful as my first visit in February. When we arrived, Charlie, the owner, was outside putting up Christmas lights & took the time to invite my sister & I in to see if our rooms were ready & they were, which was before the 3:00 check-in time. I was in room 16, which is a corner room & the view of the snow covered mountains was lovely! The inside of the inn was being decorated by Charlie’s wife, Becky & assistant, Jennie. They did a fabulous job & the decorations made me feel like I was right at home. They were all so beautiful!! The rooms were clean, clean, clean! The cleanliness of the room & bathroom were superb! That evening we relaxed in the tv room by the cozy fire, that Charlie was very attentive to & made sure to keep putting the logs on every 20 mins.-half hour. Thank you Charlie! Sunday morning’s breakfast was excellent! Jennie was a joy to chit chat with as she turned on all of the Christmas lights, started the fire & told us what our choices of breakfast were that morning. You could tell that Becky takes great pride in her culinary skills as the food was fresh, detail to presentation was spot on & it was just delicious! Thank you Becky! I highly recommend this establishment & look forward to my next weekend here!…
Arrived at 12:30 pm and our rooms were ready! Older home with outside that needed a painting. The inside was 90% decorated for Christmas and the owners and their staff do a wonderful job! The floors upstairs seem like you’re walking in a fun house because they aren’t level...just adds some charm. I had room 17, which is a queen with private bath. Simple and rustic, but impeccably clean! Sheets were crisp and inviting. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Choice of 2 dishes with no substitutions. Eggs Benedict on an English muffin or regular or blueberry pancakes. Both came with the most crispy side of bacon and choice of juice. Breakfast started with a delicious orange zested sauce on a muffin! And of course, unlimited coffee! Charlie, the innkeeper, was very social and kept a roaring fire going for us at night as we winded down and watched some television before hitting the sack! Great location!…
This historic inn is a hidden gem.we had driven by many times but never thought to stay and so glad that we did. We loved every moment of our stay, the innkeepers are husband and wife Becky and Charlie, who could not have been more accommodating hosts. Becky cooked us nade to order delicious breakfasts and Charlie stayed late to welcome us; each evening he lit us a fire, and provided us great suggestions on the area. They were present whenever we had a question and to ensure we had all we needed while operating behind the scenes. They had a great little pub for the guests to buy a wine or other cocktail and a wonderful breakfast each morning. The beds were very comfortable and the best view!! If you can go during the holiday season, the Inn is decorated lovely. We cannot wait to return.…
This little spot is very convenient and has a delightful Innkeeper. It snowed the night we were there and there were 2 fireplaces blazing! The bar onsite was perfect in that we could enjoy before and after dinner cocktails. The rooms are nothing super fancy and of course the inn dates to, you guessed it, 1785, so its old but breakfast was delish and overall it’s quite a good spot!
This is a brilliant place to stay if in the area. We stayed here for 2 nights. The room we stayed in was large and warm. The hosts are very friendly and spend time to talk to you. The breakfast is perfect in the sense of the food freshly cooked and the view whilst you eat it. If ever i go back to the area i will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to any friends or family.
