This was our second visit with the family and we enjoyed it more the second time around. During the first visit we really didn't take advantage of all the water sports and amenities The Boulders offers - but they really and truly are the only lakefront motel in Holderness so you really do need to go lakeside to appreciate it.... Myself and two other motorcycle enthusiasts stayed here during Laconia bike week. We stayed in room 12, which was very clean with everything we needed including a large fridge for beer and food. The room also has an attached screen room with chairs for sitting and watching the lake and enjoying the breeze. Our awesome hostess, Robin, was very helpful... More

For starters, I see many of these bad reviews, and just wonder what these people are used to? If you're looking for the conveniences of the Hilton, go stay there! If you're looking for a very clean, cute, nice place with awesome views of the lake, cute, quaint rooms with very nice people, then this is your place. I've stayed... More

As Adam H said - previous reviews honest. This is not for the 'fancy oriented' but we stayed in one of the cottages and loved being able to walk out the door to the lake and/or sit in front of the fire pit on the small beach area. We were here during the very latter part of the fall season... More

Comfortable bed, lake views from the screened porch, beautiful beachfront sitting area with fire pits. The decor is old but added to the charm. We had nice cool weather at night and just used the fans as quiet noise. Continental breakfast was fine. So tickled to hear loons while having tea early one morning. Not a fancy place but loved... I read many of the reviews before I went, and It was clear the boulders staff seems to care about their guest and their experience. Many of the criticisms of the motel is that the rooms are outdated, and they are. They are not, Rustic does not mean outdated, wood panel wall and wood look laminate do not make a... More

It's sad that all of the previous "cons" are true, and then some (too many issues to get into here, absentee owners). The lake and region is really nice, but since it's mostly private homes, there aren't many places to stay.

I called Sunday and was told they had one room available for that night, and we were so excited because it was Labor Day weekend and I was sure I wouldn't find anything. So, given that information, here's my review: Pros: DIRECTLY on the lake. Nice little beach, but it was steep with big rocks beneath the sand. We had... More

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” was the last thing SCREAMED at me by the rude, lazy and incompetent manager as I left the office upon checking out of The Boulder Motel and Cottage’s. A note on the manager, she was never in the office and never really had time when I came in. She was always in the backroom and very... More

This motel was just perfect. Yes, it is older and some of the furniture and fixtures are dated, but that is exactly why we loved it! Completely updateing this motel would cause it to lose a lot of it's charm. The rooms were clean and we loved sitting out on the screen porch, to look at the lake. It is... More
