While heading up to Nova Scotia, we stopped one night in the Portsmouth area. THe 1810 Pickering House was such a comfortable home. The property is lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Steve and Julia were wonderful hosts.

We're always delighted when guests stop by on their way North or South; they're relaxed because they on their way to rest or they are rested up! It was great having you join us and hope that you had a great vacation and that we see you again!

My husband and I spent this past weekend at the 1810 Pickering House. We had a wonderful experience. Our hosts Steve and Julia, were so friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. The first morning Steve made us a breakfast of eggs and meat, of our choice. There was also fresh fruit yogurt, granola and homemade zucchini...

We needed to be in Portsmouth on February 14th. We decided to look for a nice Bed and Breakfast and make it a weekend. The 1810 Pickering House was a great find! Steve and Julia greeted us at the door, and showed us our lovely room with a comfortable bed and a very good size bathroom. When we returned from...

I was a guest at 1810 Pickering House for 5 nights while I scouted the Portsmouth area for places to live. Steve and Julia were totally gracious, allowing me to switch from a room with a single bed to a suite with two beds when my sister visited for 2 nights. Both rooms were a pleasure to return to each...

A group of 7 of us stayed here for a nearby wedding. It is conveniently located close to downtown Portsmouth and the Kittery Outlets. Both less than a 10 minute drive. Steve and Julia were extremely friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The breakfast was great! Rooms were adorable. Beds were really comfy. Would definitely stay here again....

We were guests at the 1810 Pickering House for six days during this July. Our accommodations were wonderful - - neat, clean, handsome and generous. We did take the opportunity to look at all the rooms and we’d be glad to stay in any of them. The breakfasts were wonderful, and thoughtfully prepared. We had requested heart-healthy fare and Steve...

We paased trhough from Bangor Maine on our way to NYC for a wedding. OUr plans forced us to arrive late and leave early. Steve and Julia were wonderful - staying up late and cooking early. It was beautiful and we wsihed we could stay longer.

The Pickering House was exactly what I was hoping for when I booked it. Great room with cozy New England charm and great hosts. They offered up mountains of advice for things to do and places to eat that helped us out tremendously as it was our first time in the area. Location was close without being downtown which made...

We had a lovely stay at 1810 Pickering House. Everything was just perfect. Our 4 posted mahogany bed had a new firm mattress, the sheets were soft and blankets, warm. The Christmas decor was festive but tasteful. The innkeepers greeted us in the morning with fresh coffee and fruit in front of a blazing fireplace and made delicious French toast...

We enjoyed our night at the Pickering House. We got great advice about where to eat (and even where to park) in Portsmouth, a nice, quiet route for a morning run, and we had a restful sleep. Thank you for a pleasant escape!
