DO NOT STAY HERE! They DISCRIMINATE against people with disabilities. The manager and employee are horrible, lie, and BREAK THE LAW. Inexcusable! I arrived at 7:30 pm when it was already pitch black. I informed them ahead of time that I had a service dog. When I walked in I said hello. I didn't even get a hello back just a "you have a dog." They ignored the laws and ADA regulations and wanted to charge me $50 for my service dog. Keep in mind the room with tax was $72. I informed them of the law and they were breaking it. They didn't care. Kept repeating the same thing about $50. Ignored the law. The manager also said I didn't inform them ahead if time and that was why lie. And not applicable anyways. They don't deserve your business. Stay away! I was left at 8 pm with no room in the middle of the countryside in pitch black. I had no phone service or wifi. It took me 3 hours to drive out of the way to a place with wifi and get into a new room at another hotel.…
We had a very pleasant stay at Stonybrook. The check-in was efficient and the staff friendly. We wandered around the grounds in the evening. There is a pretty river out back and a pond. We did not have time to use the indoor pool, but it looked nice. Our room was comfortable and had parking right outside the door. The bathroom was small, but we managed fine. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
Spent three nights at the Lodge. When we arrived, I was informed that we had no reservation even though I have an e-mal stating that we did. The room was adequate but needed a dusting before we took occupancy. To their credit, the place has air and a ceiling fan. The lodge features a large fireplace and plenty of seating. The indoor pool was also well maintained, which is a plus since the outdoor pool was removed (the state came up with some strange regulations a few years back which prompted many motels to bury their pools). The breakfast was sufficient but not up to the quality of the big businesses. The pillows were a plus...not the skinny ones found in lots of motels. However, the towels were much like other places...needing to be replaced simply because they have been laundered so many times. One of the youngsters with us lost his wallet and we thought it was a lost cause, but the owner had it in his possession and was waiting for us to call so it could be returned. All-in-all, it was a warm, comfortable, quiet place to stay.…
Stayed here for my second time, and unfortunately I had to take off my rose-tinted glasses about the motel. The location of the motel is excellent, and the area is quiet. The rooms are quite comfortable (if you decide to book, book a double room, as the single room is no bigger than a closet). Unfortunately, the service here could be better. It's not their fault, but the innkeepers have very thick Indian accents and it is very hard to communicate issues, concerns, or questions. A lot of these reviews mention pool-related issues, and I had some this trip. Despite the pandemic, the hotel had announced on their Facebook that the pool WAS open, a week before we stayed. When I got there, we had to ask to have it open. We had to do that last November, before any pandemic hit. So there, despite signs in each room stating otherwise, are no regular pool hours. Breakfast was also stated to be open, but we had to ask to have the breakfast room open until the very last night. Innkeeper confronted us about messaging them on Facebook for any questions and told us we needed to call them because the owner kept calling them. However, I found it inconvenient to call due to the aforementioned accents and the lack of easy communication and understanding with the innkeepers. Very lacking in room amenities as well. Two small bottles (both shampoo, no conditioner) and two bars of soap. One roll of toilet paper, and when we arrived there was a half-used roll from the last people (gross). I would stay again, but I would not expect the amenities like the pool or even breakfast to be open without having to ask. I decided to move to another motel instead of extending my stay here because I had had enough of the inconsistencies that should not have existed.…
