We knew to expect basic so with those expectations, it was a 4. My kids loved having their own beds and I loved the separation from them. It looked freshly painted and the floors looked updated. I would suggest refreshing the silverware and dishes in the kitchen along with sprucing up the kitchen in general.
We stayed here since it was fairly close (5 mins. drive) to the Ocracoke Ferry. It is located adjoining a marina for sports fishermen and their boats, has a shop and deli on the ground floor and is next to Dinky's, a very good bar and restaurant also overlooking the marina. Usually the rooms are let out to fishermen who charter the boats. They are clean, functional with small kitchens, some with multiple beds, good bathrooms, balconies with marina views. We got Room 7 on the top floor, only reached by outdoor stairs, because of a cancellation. It sleeps at least four in two bedrooms, each with single beds, but the bathroom is only accessible through one of the bedrooms. Good corner view from balcony of marina and Pamlico Sound. Fine for a no frills overnight stay. Good staff.
Great location good price but the rooms are getting old... time for an upgrade... beds shower balcony chairs need upgrade... kitchen, tv fridge and ac are all good... hope to hear they do some renovations soon...
Basic motel room with efficiency which was nice, living room has a futon & 2 beds in the bedroom.. Porches over looks the marina & it is a short walk to Dinky's which had great food or to Break water Restaurant . Great for a group that wants for pillows weren't as comfortable as I would've liked but centrally located.
traveling as a family of two adults and 3 girls not only was the location great, but the efficiency room we had included a queen bedroom and three single beds in the main room. The deck looking out onto the marina and moored boats was great. It's definitely a "lived-in" place, but really enjoyed the maze of various wooden stairs and routes to the 2nd floor rooms. Price was great for what we had. The onsite store was a bonus, the onsite breakfast bar was more so-so, but overall a great experience
