The staff at the Highland Center will help you get the most out of your stay in the White Mountains. We didn't stay here but used it as starting point for our hikes. Great staff, nice store with everything you need for hiking & camping and access to many great trails. if you plan to spend time outside in the...

We stayed in the Dwarf Cinquefoil room which was epic. The views from the room were incredible and we were very close to the locker rooms. The location of the Highland center is what makes it perfect though, located right in the heart of Crawford notch. This makes it easy to head out for your hike early and still grab...

This is a perfect location for first time hikers! I brought 2 10 yr old boys to Highland Center Lodge for 3 days of hiking and just plain old fun. Highland Center offered a morning and afternoon easy/moderate guided hikes, as well as an equipment borrow room (supplied by LL.Bean free of charge) with everything kids, and adults, would need...

The family style meals with new friends was a great experience for my son. We will be back. Better pillows would be a plus though. It is a perfect place for families who want to do day hikes, or as a respite for the weary backpacker.

This is a nice location for family hikes as well as those who want to hike some 4000 footers. The Highland Center is clean, friendly and very comfortable. The suppers use to be better a few years back.

This is a beautiful lodge style building that's purpose built for a place to stay while hiking in the area. Large common areas with cabin type furniture, fireplace, and timber framing. The food service is an open buffet or scheduled family style depending on the day, a well stocked store for supplies and souvenirs, and even a games room for...

We visited off season, so the lodge was quiet during our stay, although on our last day, school groups and families arrived en-mass, so I imaging in higher season / vacation periods that this can be a bustling lodge. Our room was basic and comfortable and had an en-suite shower facility which suited our needs well. The communal dining experience...

Like your college dorm room, including the overheated rooms. We had to open the window to cool it down and get some circulation. My room was two bunk beds crammed into a small space, even with only three of us, very challenging to move around, it would only serve for sleeping. It was clean, though, as was the communal bathroom...

I've been here many times throughout my life. My love for the great outdoors started here inNH when I was about 4-5 years old. As I got older i got to explore more and more that NH had to offer in this area during all seasons. Due to my travel with the military I hadn't been here in several years...
