Travellers' Choice
The Adair Country Inn and Restaurant is a romantic retreat nestled on 200 acres of private property in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. With nine charming and comfortably appointed rooms, you'll want to cuddle up in our feather beds with the fireplace on. In the morning, you'll wake up to the smell of popovers that are baked fresh daily and served with our three course gourmet breakfast. Venture out on one of the many trails of Adair where you may see moose, black bear, or even some wild turkeys. Take up a rousing game of tennis or a fierce shuffleboard competition in the afternoon. Enjoy some tea on the patio overlooking the spectacular grounds designed by the Olmsted Brothers. In the evening, join us in the bar for a cocktail before dining at our highly acclaimed restaurant. After dinner, take up a friendly game of pool in our Granite Room on our circa 1920 pool table, before retiring to your room where you'll feel as though you're sleeping on a cloud. Come home to Adair and fall in love again.

The superb staff, amenities, and location nestled amidst the White Mountains lend the perfect experience for a restorative get away! Abundant winter activities in the area include downhill and cross country skiing, hiking, and snow shoeing. Pack a picnic to enjoy in a favorite spot off trail, alongside a meandering stream, or while enjoying a perfect vista along various rivers proximate to the Inn.

It was so nice to have you at the Inn for your getaway in the Whites! Please do come back to see us and try the wine winners from last weekend's tasting event. We are adding them to our menu very soon!

This is hands down the nicest, most romantic and friendliest Bed and Breakfast to stay. From the Innkeeper Stacey to his wonderful staff it is a memorable experience. Where to start. The Inn itself was a grand home given as a gift to their daughter Adair in 1924. I love the common rooms with their antiques and done in just such great taste as well as the guest rooms that are well appointed and sparkling clean. Due to a Christmas day soaking rain the snow melted and was the first time I had seen the magnificent grounds. This was our second time at the Inn and certainly not the last. The breakfasts are delicious especially the to die for fresh from the oven hot popovers in the morning. To match this beautiful place is the friendliest most unpretentious staff that make you feel like it is your home. Do not forget to dine here as if you remember the Balsams with its incredible food the chef and his daughter who works in the dining room have a history with the Balsams you will have a fine dining gourmet meal. Rack of lamb is a must. Again, the memories spent here will always be special.

Our stay was over the Thanksgiving weekend. Rooms: The rooms were spacious and clean. We stayed in the Lincoln room but took a peak in the other open rooms. They all looked clean and welcoming. Room had Nespresso machine in the room and a Keurig right outside the room. Breakfast - Consisted of fresh fruit, popovers and an egg. They serve each separately at 9:00, which dragged out the meal. Maybe some people like this but for breakfast we prefer to have an earlier and quicker breakfast. They are strict about the time. If you can't make 9:00 they will give you breakfast to go. The second day we took a breakfast to go which consisted of a hardboiled egg, fruit and yogurt. Evening Dining - Because of COVID we chose to dine in our room. Lincoln room had a nice table for two that we could eat dinner at. Staff was very helpful taking out order and bringing to us. Staff - Friendly and accommodating. Inn - The interior was beautiful and clean. The exterior needs a bit of work. They do have trails you can walk on. They had a fire pit that they lit up but we didn't attend. Overall a very nice place to stay.

This was our third or fourth visit. Being in Hospitality and Retail, we had a very busy summer and fall. We just wanted a quiet and relaxing few days away. I knew the Adair would deliver and it did. They did this flawlessly, and still keeping all COVID-19 protocol in place. A beautiful room which was spotless. We ate all of our meals there, the food was excellent. If you've stayed at The Adair before, then you know of their monster size popovers at breakfast. Hot out of the oven with butter and strawberry jam. We loved the common room in the basement. Had a roaring fire, played pool (I lost each game), cards and games. We watched the big screen TV in the room, while relaxing and decompressing. Many thanks to the entire team. "Well played" Team Adair. We'll be back.
