Our last day in Vegas my husband and I stopped at the bar inside The Golden Gate to try our luck one last time. We were instantly greeted with a smiling welcome by our bartender Luis! Little did we know he was a flair bartender. He did a wonderful job putting on a show while making our drinks. If you...

We went to Las Vegas to attend and celebrate our Daughters wedding and decided we would make a ten day holiday. What a fabulous place, the place is clean majority of people of friendly and helpful. The City is always on the go but in a relaxed and pleasing way. It is an adults destination and not ideal for children....

Our room was a cracker box, and was not even a room that was anywhere on their website!! Don't plan on going to sleep before 3am because you can't unless you have ear plugs!! The Band was so loud you could hear what song it was clearly in your room. Be where, they don't tell you about the resort fee...

My mistake for not requesting a higher floor, as I normally do... we stayed in a Rush Tower Junior Suite room, which was quite spacious and very clean. However, it was on the 6th floor and the view was marred by a bank of lights on the outside shining up onto the side of the building. They were ugly by...

Checked into the most ridiculously small 1940's era room in the front end of the hotel. NEVER again. The owner hangs out at the bar and drinks to oblivion hoping the people come up and kiss his butt. That was strange.

Another great time at the golden gate casino! "Luis" the daytime bartender is so cool and makes an awesome Bloody Mary. Love the vibe generated. We have been here many times and are never disappointed.

I booked this room on a groupon deal, wasn't quite sure what I would get but was amazed. Room reminded me of a Spanish craftsmanship home. Was so cozy, decor was very nice and great location in freemont. Casino is really good and service at front desk was very nice, even housekeeping was right on top of it.

We had the most fun here, and I spent all of my gambling time here. The prime time dealers make this a great night spot. The girls dancing/dealing were entertaining and not too risqué. During the day it was still enjoyable. Note: We didn't stay here, but plan to give it a shot next time.

I got a really good deal with Groupon to stay here. I stayed Sunday through Friday to attend a conference so this was a mix between work and play stay. I have stayed in a dozen Las Vegas hotels so I feel I'm fit to review and compare hotels here. The location for Golden Gate is perfect if you enjoy...

My boyfriend and I booked this room for $12 a night on groupon. Booked three nights and with the resort fee of $22.50 a night it came up to $100 bucks for the three nights. I'm a cheap room person and easy to please. The bed is comfortable, we have cable to tv with limited channels which wasn't awesome but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Accurately billed as Las Vegas' "Most Historic Hotel," the Golden Gate has stood the test of time and then some. Since opening as the Hotel Nevada in 1906, this modest and cozy corner establishment has stood placidly at One Fremont Street while the town -- and the world -- changed around it. Most notably, the Fremont Street Experience was built right outside its door. Very little has changed to compromise the hotel's old school charm in the intervening years, although the Golden Gate has made improvements and modernized. The hotel remains proudly dwarfed by its neighbors, at just 106 rooms. The rooms themselves, on the other hand, have been updated and include modern amenities like flat screen televisions and iHome clock radios. The casino is just as active as opening day -- and just as intimate -- although now its boasts Dealer Dancers from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly. Its shrimp cocktail -- widely acknowledged as the first ever served in Las Vegas -- is as popular as the day it was introduced. Even as Las Vegas builds toward the heavens, the Golden Gate keeps close to the ground, rooted in its rich and wildly successful history. ... more   less
