In early April of 2022 we had the misfortune of staying at the Sonesta. The staff was very curt and not very helpful, the linen in our non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke, the hall had the odor of an ashtray in an old diaper. Hot water went out that evening with no hint of when it would be fixed. Currently featured free breakfast had been discontinued two years prior due to pandemic. We had just come from a fantastic week in San Diego, so we were very let down.
Last Saturday of spring break, I was able to find this hotel with a reasonable price. I came to Las Vegas for one night due to business. Every time I went out, I was greeted by any member of the staff. From desk staff team were very polite, friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to talk to the front desk staff. My trip was one night, and I was not able to use other amenities in the property. The room was good and I was able to get a good night sleep. The hotel is outside the strip, but it shouldn't be a problem if you have a car. It's located around 15 minutes from the strip.
Booked one week direct with Sonesta; I want them to get all my money. told them this stay was to celebrate my 40th wedding anniversary. Arrived around 5 PM to find they did not have a room prepared for me. They sent some old guy down to "straighten out a room for us". Room 174. The carpet was filthy; see pictures. I had to put towels over the filth on my wife's side of the bed. when I asked them to clean the carpet, they said they do not do that. but on our last day there was a man scrubbing carpets in the public area and a professional carpet cleaning company working on the second floor. The sliding door was locked from the outside; no possible escape should there have been a fire. Despite a written letter stating the room had been sanitized and "sealed" for our safety, it was not. The letter also promised towels replaced and garbage removed every other day; it was not. On the 5th day someone cleaned our room; instead of a bedspread, we ended up with two top sheets and a comforter in between. I called the Sonesta main line twice to register my concerns; I never heard back from anyone. Thank you Carlos Flores; you have done a remarkable job of reducing a brand I used to trust to a pathetic joke.…
Recently stayed here and while the person at the desk was certainly nice, that was about it . This place needs TLC and I'm putting it kindly. Carpets were disgusting. When I called to complain about no hot water (pipe burst) the phone didn't work. I'm walked out and got a partial refund. Other's walked out too during my departure.
Avoid this property if at all possible. Smell is rotting and moldy, unaware that NO services were being offered - not even a cup of coffee in cafe. NOTHING was opened Jan/2022 So when we asked if we could use a couple plates for take out food. We were told NO! because they had to do inventory of plates prior to re-opening. JUST Horrible!!! We've stayed at Sonesta properties before - THIS Place IS such a disappointment; stained carpet floors and horrible smells near laundry room and hallways. Final straw was..... seriously, a couple plates for guests who have been with you over a week - and the answer is NO. Would have left immediately if we could have closed sooner on home property. Incredibly loud traffic and a/c heating noise but that could be forgiven....SMELL and plates unavailable for inventory just tipped the scale.…
The staff was rude, they did not take control of the children running around the hotel lobby and Elevator. parking was limited. We confirmed two king-size beds, what we received was one king size bed and a full-sized sofa bed No food served on the premises. We were told to walk around outside, there’s plenty of places to eat
They REALLY need to replace the carpets throughout the hotel. The carpet in the rooms are just gross! So happy I brought my slippers from home. Also, I know we are dealing with Covid but having coffee on sight isn’t going to spread Covid. I think the hotel is getting lazy.
The good is location and safety and maybe a sparkling pool with outdoor courtyard; ok for group gatherings. The spa is closed as are the cafe and breakfast areas. A brown bag of an orange, a packaged muffin and single granola bar were available gratis. We called the Marriott/Bonvoy property twice, then realized Sonesta was answering. The property has temporary Sonesta Select signage. We paid over $200/night for a king suite. Sadly, way overpriced for the dingy accommodations. Grimy cloth furniture. Faux leather chairs badly needed wipe downs. Fresh white socks on the carpet were black after one eve. The bathroom needed a thorough cleaning, especially the shower walls that had hair hanging on it from previous occupant. The back of the bathroom door was gross. The bed and pillows were just ok. Tiny, old TVs. Wallpaper, carpet and paint, needs replacing. Dark red splatter (blood?) at the side entrance. Broken hall door on third floor. If you are looking for spacious with blackout window coverings, a fridge, microwave, a dated room, and dated coffee maker, with free parking, this property may work for you. As first time Sonesta guests, we were unimpressed.…
This is a great hotel. The front desk service is professional and top notch. The bed was comfy. The room was nice. The balcony was a nice bonus. The location is a bit out of the way, but that's what we wanted. Would absolutely book this hotel again.
My fiancé stayed here when his father passed away. I messaged the hotel about our difficult circumstances. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and sweet. They left a bag with water and snacks and a sympathy card. He was so appreciative and touched. Thank you for everything
