Vegas has MANY hotel options. This hotel is not for everyone, but it was perfect for me! I will consider staying here on all future visits to Vegas, in lieu of smokey, overpriced, mega hotels on the strip. This was a quiet, real neighbourhood, with easy access to both Fremont St/Downtown and the strip. Near many MANY wedding chapels, the Arts District, and even the most amazing bookstore (The Writer's Block). This is the kind of place where I was comfortable to stay for 8 nights, a low-key, affordable hotel. I actually moved from a stay at the Tropicana (an allegedly 4 star hotel), and found this Super 8 cleaner, newer, nicer and with better staff and better value than there! I rented a queen deluxe with a 3rd floor private balcony, and really enjoyed my own private outdoor space. The room was nicely appointed, came with free coffee, lots of TV options, and I was even offered free snacks! At other vegas hotels you have to pay for everything, but here I was offered free daily bottled water, coffee, fresh towels, bed making service - I never had that good of service elsewhere in this city! Additionally, and particular to me, is that I have asthma and find most hotels with air conditioning and windows that don't open to really activate my cough and make me uncomfortable, even claustrophobic. So this hotel with its spacious private balcony and fresh air option, as well and individual AC/heater/fan unit, was the best option for me to have comfort on a longer stay. There were a few disturbances during my stay (smoke alarm, other guests having an argument once), but with a lower cost hotel like this, I saw on a daily basis that many of the hotel guests are colourful characters that maybe mean the occasional disturbance - but I never felt unsafe. I am a character myself, so I felt right at home. Yes, there are homeless people in this area, but I always felt safe and respected. In fact, the whole area rubbed off on me and left me headed home with a much more relaxed, open and informal attitude than when I arrived. No place is perfect, but for value, overall quietness, location and service, this place was a great fit for me. Definitely not the kind of fancy Vegas experience many people want, but this met all my needs and exceeded all my expectations. …
Pros: - Walking distance to the strip and Freemont Street Experience - ATM, Restaurants, 7-Eleven within walking distance Cons: - Unsafe area - Unclean facility - VERY limited parking spaces - Incompetent front desk staff - Dirty room floors that will turn your feet black within a few steps walking around - The lock keys struggle to work - Pillows are old and extremely lumpy/hard - Dead cockroaches behind tv - No "Do not disturb" sign for the door - No iron, ironing board, alarm clock as advertised - No pool or restaurant or breakfast as listed on the official website - Hidden charges for "amenities" even though they are listed as free or included for guests on the official website ______________________________ I will NEVER stay here again. I had a late check-in which I called in earlier about and was given the okay. I arrived to check-in, and it took far too long because during the process the employee answered a phone call and got sidetracked right in front of us. She could have easily had the other lady that was free standing there next to her continue our check-in, but no. So this resulted in the employee checking us into only 1 of the 2 rooms I had reserved. I noticed the lower price total than what I was given, and I asked her if prices had lowered because it was previously twice the amount for 2 rooms. She asked if I had reserved 2 rooms and I said YES. She looked in her computer and found our second reservation. We had to sign a whole separate stack of papers over this. Now fast forward to the day after we checked out. No email received for charges made by hotel. I check out our credit card charges and see 2 additional separate charges for $60 dollars each. I call the hotel and the woman in the front desk said they are charges for amenities. I asked what amenities? She listed all the things that are mentioned in the official website! I said those things are standard and included, including the FREE WI-FI which they are trying to charge me for and a pool that doesn't even exist on the Super 8 property!! WTF. The woman told me their Supervisor will call me to resolve these charges but I'm certain they won't be judging by all the other bad reviews I'm reading here. So I will be contacting the Wyndham corporate office tomorrow to file an official complaint against this location and the apparent scams they're performing there with these fraudulent charges. I will update my review as this develops, but as of right now STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL TO AVOID THIS MESS.…
If you want to feel safe do not stay here. Skid row. Bed sinks in the middle with pillows that are bumpy. Fights in the parking lot. Addicts sleeping on the sideway. Hotel internet does not provide a safe connection. Over priced. On a high note if you want to get married plenty of chapels around.
The lobby was modern. The grounds near the ice machine was trashy and the room door was hard to open from the inside. The hotel clerks at check in and check out were inconsiderate. The checkin clerk was answering the phone while I was standing there waiting. There was another person working who could have answered. She offered the other guest a cookie and gave her a choice but not me I had to ask. When checking out I asked for the invoice he told me he would email it they were trying to save paper? Also make sure u ask when they activate the key cards ask if they fully activated because it wasn't I had to go back to the checkin for them to do it again.
The key card was deactivated after check in and the staff member Mark only stated “I don’t know” “that’s weird” and attempted to reset the room key but didn’t work! It’s not in the best area either. We checked out only hours after checking in. The lack of confidence and assurance was unsettling to us and having our belongings locked inside and mind you it was after 11pm was not something I was willing to chance our entire stay! If you have no choice then this is the property for you!
They chose to have the motel next door manage and I had room key issues, noise issue at night and witnessed domestic abuse twice. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. The room was clean and comfortable though. Good quality bed. I was there for an event so only there at night till mid morning. This area has homeless and rough people in general but it does appear to be getting a facelift. We found a really nice cafe only a few minutes walk from the Motel and that was its saving grace. Vegas Vegan. Very good even if you aren’t vegan.
There was pot smoke everywhere. And it was scary to walk anywhere even in the daytime. They didn't even have the check in office open. Garbage was everywhere and not much parking space. People were staying in they're cars in the parking lot
I called about a week and a half prior to my stay to ask about late checkout and was told there was a $25 fee for such but I would have to wait until check in to add it to my stay. An hour before check in I called to make sure I could still add late check out and was told it would be $30 and I would have to ask the day before check out. The night before check out I called to ask if I could add it then and was told it would be $40 and I would have to come down to the lobby to make the payment, but I was out so I could not do it then. Keep in mind I was told each time I was told late check out was at 2:00 PM. Around an hour or two later I made it down and asked to add late check out to my stay and was told it would be $50 and check out would be at 1:30 PM. The morning of check out, around 11:15, room service came by asking if I was leaving so they could clean the room and I told them I had late check out and they said I needed to go down and pay… I already had? Five minutes later I received a call from the front desk that they were told we were still in the room and needed to leave and I told him no that I paid for late check out the night before and he said “Oh, I didn’t know, I see that now.” I would think there would be some type of consistency seeing as this is a well known chain but I guess that was my mistake for for having any sort of expectations for this place.…
I only needed a hotel for one night, so I booked this thinking it'll be fine. Plus I knew it was SOUTH Las Vegas Blvd, so I thought it was by the airport. So I pulled into the hotel, which is next door to a Vegas wedding chapel, and there was very little room to drive around the hotel. As I got out of the car, a curvy woman of color was walking down the street buck naked with an arm draped across her chest and her hand covering her area further south. I entered the lobby to find a homeless man pulling up his pants with one hand while his other hand held a big garbage bag with recyclables. The front desk people were very nice. She explained the whole deposit thing, and it was refunded a few days later. And she gave me a package of cookies and I was on my way to my room. When I walked up to my room, there were crazy people screaming at each other down the hall. I was wondering why my window was open, then I realized all the buttons on my AC were scratched out and not working. It's a good thing I was there at a time when it was neither too hot or too cold. (Miraculously, the next day the AC started working out of nowhere, but there was no way to stop or adjust it.) I was hoping to grab some food somewhere within walking distance, but when I started walking down the street a guy in a motorized wheelchair followed me down the street and tried to get my attention. I ignored him, went back the the hotel, got in my car, and drove to Fremont street for some food. When I got back to the hotel, I ran to my room, and locked the door. I parked in a spot where I can look out the window and make sure my car was still there and still intact. The floor was hardwood and felt lumpy and uneven. The beds were a bit on the hard side, but clean and usable. My favorite was the TV and good cable channels. But I never seemed to get the internet work. The bathroom and tub are very clean. So the room is ok, and functional, it's just the area that sucks. I checked out the next day and headed to my next hotel. It's the little motel that wants to be, but the crazies in the area ruined it for me. But the staff was nice and the rooms were clean I'll only stay here again if I have to,…
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Check in took an hour being on a line and being taken care of. Area is ghetto and felt unsafe. People who were using this hotel were poor, immigrants, and weird… Sorry to say this but this place is bad…
