Just had to give a special shout out to the staff at the Waldorf Sky Bar, over due but they were amazing with helping me propose to my gf in the bar! The manager, a young British woman, and our server Mariana(?), were both amazing, I'm so sorry I can't remember your names! Had a great table with an an amazing strip view (one of the best on the strip) and the champagne ready to flow, thank you so much!

My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves for saint Valentine’s Day, away from our day to day routine. We are not huge fans of the strip at all (we are locals) due to the blatant lack of service, which borders rudeness even in established “luxury hotels” such as Wynn & Cosmo. We decided to experience Waldorf Astoria (formerly the Mandarin Oriental) because: no casino, so you are only in contact with hotel or restaurant guests; quiet setting; close to all main attractions on the strip yet tucked away and with outstanding Uber / Lyft access. Our stay was exceptional; it felt reserved but not cold. We were upgraded to a wonderful strip view room upon checking in. Surprises did not end here! Everyone was genuinely friendly and personable, starting from the valet assistants, all the way to the restaurant manager, Thomas. Yuri and Jeremy at the front desk were always polite and proactive, ready via text or phone to assist us. Yuri assisted us with our check- in and made sure to get us reservations to the Skybar before they sold out and also informed us that they were rolling out in room service (yay!!!!); Jeremy was great during check out. Speaking of room service, the food is FANTASTIC: I recommend the BORN in USA breakfast, which features a really abundant portion and is of great value. I missed not having room service during the pandemic, but it’s back! The room was great, super clean and spacious, with a wonderful mattress and pillows. The bathroom tub is the best thing you will ever experience at a hotel: deep and wide, it even fit my 6’4 husband (for once haha!). While we were dining at Skybar, Mariana was so prompt and courteous and was on top of ingredients knowledge (I have a dairy issue): for example she knew that pesto contained a small amount of Parmesan. It made me feel safe enjoying their delicious foods. One night we had reservation at Zen and Thomas (I assume the restaurant manager?) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Upon arriving at Zen restaurant , were greeted by our friendly server Erick, who showed us to our table: it was covered in red rose petals and we had a thoughtful handwritten card welcoming our stay. I have never experienced such a thoughtful and gracious way to make your guests feel special. If we want a staycation, we will most definitely stay here exclusively because of the tailored experience we had. I wish I had taken more pictures but my husband and I decided to stay completely off our phones to reconnect. Thank you everyone who made us happy!

It's a beautiful property from the previous Mandarin Oriental Hotel. When it was under MO, it was managed as a 5 stars in terms of quality and service. Now, it's managed like a 3 stars. I really wish Management can improve. Good: Concierge team works hard. Bryan and Jeremy really tried to help guests with heart. Bad: 1) Hotel is 4pm check in time not 3pm. By 4pm they said room not ready becoz Mgr is doing last round checkup. 4:10pm not ready. 4:20pm not ready, we asked why it's taking so long to just do a so called "quick" verification. Receptionist would only give you a standard apology but no solution, not even calling anyone to rush up. 4:30pm, not ready. Guest start to get impatient. There are other parties in the lobby complain about the same. Eventually we were lucky enough get our room, but other guests claimed they been waiting for 45 mins+. 2) no late checkout unless you've certain Hilton member. Understand the late checkout is not guaranteed, but when you delayed check in, should your staff offer late check out at least for the same amount of delayed time? 3) on 2/15 afternoon tea (around 2:30-3:30pm), only 5 tables of guests. The restroom in lobby is dirty like a public restroom (or worse). I'm very concerned how does it pass COVID rule? At 3:30pm when guests wish to get checks/tea, at that time all tables already got their tea set therefore no need to be busy in kitchen, there's not a single waitress around. My table + other tables have to go around try to locate someone to help. 4) on 2/15 around 11am, Zen Cafe has 1 waitress on duty. 3 parties waiting over 15 mins. 1 party only ordered 2 cokes, 1 party only need an empty cup, my party's order missed a coffee and I had to return downstairs to get. Question - if your waitress can't handle the restaurant work should Management try to help to find root cause? 5) Housekeeping is very under staff. 2/15 we requested room to be cleaned twice. At the end Housekeeping said they can clean at 6pm. They're under staff, I didn't see a single cleaning person on the floor, this is not their problem but Management need to make some arrangements. 6) Before coming I wrote to hotel indicating this is an anniversary trip and wish the hotel can help make a bit special. At check in, no upgrade no any complimentary was given, not a simple greeting card or a small souvenir for the child. Husband talked with front desk as if can help arrange flowers, front desk said No. 7) During the stay we did not see any cleaning person wipe down common area. In contrast, hotels nearby (supposed lower level than Waldorf) have dedicated staff sanitize all common areas including door handles every few mins. Waldorf has no temperature taken in/out hotel and no COVID questionnaire to check at front desk. 8) Tea lounge is open to public, no temperature taken no verify hand sanitized procedure. As hotel guests, thought there would be a table reserved just for hotel guests but no, it's all first come first serve. This is uncommon compare to other 5 stars. Conclusion: There are many other areas need improve but the list is already long. As other reviewer stated: "Not what it used to be". It's very sad, I thought Waldorf is a luxury brand, I thought Hilton chain is a brand name. I might be wrong.

I had a fabulous time this week at the Waldorf. It was one of the few hotels on the strip that had their pool open and the weather was amiable for a dip. I was told that one pool was heated but they both felt warm. Currently, many of the amenities are only open on the weekends, that includes the spa. Even the tram between the Aria and Bellagio wasn't running. We dined mainly at Aria which is a five minute walk away. Even the Starbucks downstairs was shuttered so that I needed to go Aria for a fix. There is takeaway available on the third floor but there is no Keurig or coffee pot or fridge for that matter in the room. The hotel maintains the theme of its predecessor although an update might be in order it still cuts mustard. There was a hallway immediately to the left of the room entrance that contained the wardrobe. A stroll past that was a magnificent bathroom. I appreciated the door to the toilet and ample counter space. The bathtub was roomy and the glass panel allowed for views of the strip during a nice evening soak. The bath products were Salvatore Ferragamo, a masculine scent but pleasant. You may wish to pack your own for a more feminine scent. The bed was very comfortable and there is some agreeable mood lighting in the headboard if you play around with it. Overall, it was quiet and peaceful. My interactions with staff were few. I received several text messages from the front desk regarding my stay. My companion requested water and ice at the front desk and those were placed in our valet closet within 30 minutes. Be careful with rideshare, we found that some drivers were not familiar with hotel and couldn't find the entrance. We often walked to Aria for rideshare.

We stayed here numerous times when it was operated by Mandarin—and each stay was perfect. Since Hilton took this over a couple of years back, things continue to go downhill. Had to wait 5 minutes for the valet to show up. Room had spots on the floors, thin towels, no top bed sheet, and scratchy sheets. Definitely overdue for a renovation. TV mysteriously came on full bore at 2 am. Just what we needed as we had an early flight. The only thing they provide (you have to ask) for coffee is a boiling water pot and a “packet” of coffee to drop in your cup—horrible! How difficult is it to provide Nespresso or similar machines that are found at most high end hotels? Although we’ve always thought this to be the top notch hotel in Vegas, no more. For top quality, choose the Encore or Wynn Tower Suites—far superior.
