We stayed at the El Cortez last week and it was great!! I booked a vintage room because I wanted the "old Vegas" overall experience. We arrived about 9:00Pm and check in was a breeze. The room was just as I expected after reading so many reviews (both good and bad) It was small, clean, and quiet. Exactly what we...

Wife and I stayed here for a week Sept 2016. Had an above average sized room with couch and comfy chair. Queen bed was super comfy and clean. If you're considering staying downtown while in vegas, we would suggest considering the Cortez due to its excellent location to Freemont and other downtown amenities but if you need a modern room...

My wife and I stayed here while I was working on a project in Las Vegas. If you travel to Vegas often (or have a wife from there like I do) you probably do not want to stay on the strip; you want something a but more authentic. This location lets you get to a lot of local favorites quickly...

I spent a week in Vegas. Half of the trip was on the Strip for a conference and the rest was at the El Cortez Cabana Suites for fun. For the price of 1 night on the strip, I had 3 nights in a suite @ El Cortez. The room was quite nice. The property was old by Vegas standards...

This was my 17th trip to LV but my girlfriends first. Although I wanted her to see downtown, I wanted her to experience an entire day there so I decided to book a Saturday night (July 30) at the El Cortez Cabana Suites. They were literally $20 more then their basic low level hotel room at the El Cortez. It...

The REST of the El Cortez was built in 1941 and 1980. This building opened as a separate hotel in 2008, and was later taken over by the El Cortez. The 63 Cabana Suites (they're actually 400 or 200 sq. ft. rooms) absolutely sparkle! Just look at the pictures, and that's what you'll get. Rooms also have fridges (rare for...

Decided to book a relatively last minute trip to Vegas. Got a decent rate at the El Cortez Cabana Suites. Everywhere else was crazy expensive. I've wandered through the casino on several occasions and thought it to be a little dingy. However, being in the beggars can't be choosers category, I thought I'd give it a go. I love downtown...

We were upgraded to the El Cortez Cabana Suites. First time staying in their Cabana suites. Short walk across the street.First impression was wow what a funky colored room (lime green) and a little small. Most important it was very clean. The staff and security were all friendly.

Very short walk from the Fremont Street Experience. Budget friendly, on site security. This hotel had little extras- only $8.95 Resort fee, two bottles of water placed in your room daily, refrigerator, fresh fruit every morning in the lobby as well as little snacks like M&M's, Starburst, Red Hots. Receptionist is at the desk 24 hours a day and will...

We love El Cortez. We can gamble for less and have more fun. We stayed in the Cabana suites, this is our second time. Their remodel is so great. Any hotel looking to do a retro remodel should check this place out. When we went the first time there were no coffee makers in the room or fridges. This time...
