What happened to this property? I hope the property managers read this and address these issues. We don’t need a consoling remark back from the management Pros: Great staff people were very helpful and very kind Beautiful landscaping, impeccable Cons: Rooms: Mold in bathroom grout Marred furniture our room Connectivity and down loan speeds for WYFI is very poor. Housekeeping staff shouldn’t talk and burden guess with how tired and busy they are. Elevators look like a service elevator, glass not clean and the wood finishing all mares up with sheet metal finishing all streaked Not all Tables in gambling area open 24 hr, cramps and roulette not open early morning till 11:00am Aqua spa’s main feature “The pool” was not warm and non functional The main hotel pool is only half open and only open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm no evening dip in pool Hot tub not fictional Lounge chairs were stained with other guess sweat and suntan lotion and were commonly dotted with bird poop Drinks alittle expensive $17+ tip for mixed drinks Pool side cabanas alittle pricey at $275 per day. And all the above with temps in high 90’s. Not the JW Marriott that we experienced pre-Covid. These issues were not problems the last time we came here. If you charge full price for a resort then the management should provide full services. In this case I didn’t get what I paid for which is contrary to the old slogan “you pay for what you get”.…
We have been going to the JW in Vegas for over 10 years. On this visit at the pool we ran a tab - we had 3 adults and 1 toddler - ordered 4 drinks and 2 meals, when we decided to cash out the waitress brought a tab that was not detailed and came to $138.51, my husband added a $20 tip - I asked her for an itemized bill and she never returned, husband goes to the bar and asked and she said she couldn't give and itemized tab - So he told her what we purchased and according to the menu our bill was $109.00 - she THEN stated that they AUTOMATICALLY ADD 21% TO TABS OVER $100! He asked her and the bar manager where that is posted - they couldn't answer that question! So not only did she over charge she gave herself a $29.51 tip, not disclosing it - the receipt shows your total and tip amount is blank with suggested amounts starting at 18%. She potentially had a $59.51 tip - a 54% tip - they're making a fortune scamming their customers. They cancelled the charge and re-charged at $109 amount - she then asked if she could include THE 21% tip - (YES SHE DID!), husband told her no - you don't deserve a tip after that and handed her a few dollars - after he walked away...she didn't realize I was standing behind her getting water and she called him every name in the book! She was so PO'd she had been caught. Later my husband went to talk to the hotel manager and explained what happened - he had no idea they were doing that and said it sounds like fraud to him! Most the people at the pool run a tab - when I had let people around us know they were furious! Get a DETAILED bill! We would have had no problem paying a 21% if it was posted someplace like the menu, so we were not doubling it - but they concealed it.…
It’s worth noting the hotel was on dirty dining in April 2022, but we had our res confirmed. The service really went down after covid. Not a family friendly hotel. I booked two room and asked for the early time check in on the app, showed it’s ready. I still arrived late due to having two toddlers and an infant and the room still wasn’t ready. Took about 1.5 hours to get it ready and I wasn’t informed, I had to contact front desk to send the keys upstairs, they refused siting policy( policy is to verify id but since they already verified my id and charged for it then it doesn’t apply here) I had to drag my little and go downstairs to be yelled at by a “manager” with dollar signs tattoo on his neck. He tells me I was never checked in, so why did you charge my card?? Why does the app says I was and I’m already in the first room. He uses his hand to sign “talk to the hand” I was very polite asking so I didn’t understand his confrontational attitude and aggressive demeanor. I felt like I was mid Harlem street not the JW! Later in the evening we ordered food, they didn’t tell us food was downstairs by the front desk, they didn’t bring it up so I finally called and found out it’s been there, my husband got it. He went upstairs and the silverware was not included so I called for silverware, 30 minutes goes by and I called again to check status and they say it will com up soon. Waited 10 and called but no one picked up.. I called again about 10-15 times and no one picked up! They literally stopped picking up the phone! They knew the number it came from but they didn’t care. I went downstairs to the front desk to find that same rude manager. That’s their passive aggressive way of not responding. I asked what’s going on, and he answers by saying they are short staffed. Meanwhile two desk agents are standing and chatting on the side, i looked at them and he said we don’t pick up desk calls here, this is all in the back! The front desk only deals with check in and reservations. The pool staff was nice and accommodating, not enough to make up for the front desk but they we’re natural and helpful. For the food, we only recommend Jade for the best Chinese/ Japanese restaurant in town!…
Full disclosure, after numerous complaints I was provided 50,000 Bonvoy points which I do not feel is commensurate witht he issues we experienced. I also do not want to discount COVID related staffing challenges - with that said we did not find service issues at other Las Vegas venues (Westin, Hugos, Top Golf, In n Out, etc.). I am a Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium having stayed over 1,400 nights at Marriott properties. A few years ago we had stayed at the JW Las Vegas and had a wonderful trip. Unfortunately this time we found the property to be in disrepair and dirty (both public areas and rooms). Chipped paint, dirty carpets, unspeakable bathrooms, etc. Geese have run rampant at the property and there are piles of goose feces on all sidewalks. The pool had limited hours (10 am to 5 pm), even with these limited hours of operation (a) the pool never opened on time leaving hundreds of guests standing in line waiting and (b) lounge chairs were in short supply, broken, and had filthy/stained pads on them. The pool was frequently out of towels, and the pool deck was filthy (more goose feces). each day 50% of the pool was closed for some reason - and pool floats and thrown balls were everywhere in the densely packed available remaining space. The first room that we were given had an AC unit that cycled every 60 to 90 seconds and a loud banging noise leading to a couple of sleepless nights. They fixed the AC, but the banging continued - we were then told that it was a water pipe issue and we could change rooms. We inadvertently left behind a brand new pair of pool slippers when packing up - notified the hotel within 12 hours - the room had been given to another guest (I can only assume still with the pipe problem) and the shoes were "missing". Despite the dirtiness of the hotel, daily housekeeping is not an option. In a six night stay we were given the option of one housekeeping visit. For those of you that are Bonvoy members, the complementary breakfast is one of the shabbiest I have experienced at any Marriott let alone a JW. On weekends you are obligated to pay up for a full brunch to opt out. Depsite booking well in advance I was unable to use Bonvoy suite night certificates. On a positive note, both hotel restaurants have nice happy hours and the service was very good. We switched to the Las Vegas Westin - this is a very well run hotel, impeccably clean, gracious service, a daily housekeeping option and an excellent restaurant for breakfast. I would suggest staying there instead.…
I was a little apprehensive after reading some less than stellar reviews particularly by elite Bonvoy members but our stay was near perfect! Short review: This is a beautiful 50 acre property, with an amazing pool, walking paths, activities like beach volleyball and Cornhole, many restaurants, a spa and a casino. The rooms are massive with amazing bathrooms with whirlpool tubs. The food was good to great depending on location and the staff were helpful and friendly. All this in a setting next to the red rocks with fantastic views yet only 15 minutes to the Strip! Long Review: There is a 40 resort fee, obviously I'm not a fan of these but it did seem like a decent value as parking is included and you get a $20 credit each night (the Marriott website says $10 but it's definitely $20). I'm not a fan of valet parking (I like to access my car whenever I want!) So I was pleased to note that as an alternative you can park yourself a short walk from the hotel. We had a two queen room with a walkout balcony. The room was almost 600 square feet or about twice the size of a standard hotel room. Our balcony had two chairs and an impressive view of the red rock mountains, I highly recommend securing a balcony room if possible. The in room coffee was surprisingly good and I loved the toiletries in the bathroom. There was also a mini fridge and some water glasses although no wine glasses and no ceramic coffee mugs. I can't stress how nice the bathroom was. Huge two person jacuzzi tub, separate walk-in shower with two shower heads. Dual sinks and a toilet with a separate door. Great design as a few people could potentially use it as the same time. The pool had very restrictive hours (10 to 5). It's also very shallow and not really meant for serous swimming but it was very large and there was tons of loungers around it and even lifeguards. We absolutely loved the pool area. There were even servers continuously making the rounds and a dedicated restaurant for the pool. I will say that my $17 Pina colada was bland and way too expensive even considering the location. Also, be aware that a lot of families stay here and there can be a lot of kids in the pool. (we spent several hours at the pool last Sundayand loved it but the nice of screaming kids did get to me after a while and I love kids and was traveling with my 16 year old). We're Platinum Elite members and this is how your free breakfast works: On weekends it's served in the Marketplace Buffet. We were told we just the front continental area of the buffet was included or we could pay $15 extra for the full buffet. My wife and daughter just did continental and I paid extra but both my wife and myself were offered champagne (unlimited on weekend brunch). The brunch buffet was delicious with surprisingly decent champagne and lots of food options. We also har breakfast on a Monday and it's served in the Earl Grey cafe. We were offered a separate elite guest continental menu and I was surprised that we couldn't pay extra to order off the regular menu. That said the "continental" options were huge and varied and also came with a separate side. I had bagels, cream cheese and lox plus a side of delicious zucchini bread. It was massive and delicious. We did eat dinner at the buffet and I wouldn't recommend it. The food didn't seem as good as breakfast. We also took advantage of the Starbucks with is a regular sized one with all the options of a stand alone one. The only small Issues we had with our stay: Pool hours are quite restrictive and it gets very loud with kids (it's Still really nice though) Our room had a wind like noise almost continuously throughout our stay. I imagine it's wind being funneled through the ventilation system, it was noticeable but not a big deal. Overall this was an amazing stay and we're already planning a return visit!…
