This smaller hotel is of the beaten path but it's not far from the excitement. It's walking distance from Fremont street and there are amazing places to eat across the street and down from the hotel. The restaurant inside the El Cortez had great food with excrement prices asking with friendly staff.

Clean, comfortable, quiet convenient location for Fremont Street access. Older decor but the price was right! Enjoyed this hotel and will book a stay there again. I liked the 1950's ambiance in the casino area. Very nice views from the upper floors.

I stayed here with some friends for a few nights, and I couldn't believe how dirty this place is. We were in the tower rooms. Whenever I entered the casino/lobby area, all I could smell was urine and incense. Almost like someone had tried to cover up the urine smell with incense, and it just made it worse. Looking around,...

Each trip to Vegas wouldn't be complete without a visit to El Cortez. During the week, they have 25 cent roulette. It's classic Vegas but definitely a cozy feel to it. Laid back and people are always having a great time. Check it out!

I stayed here for about 10 days over a two week period - I travel to Vegas about 4 times a year and always stay on Fremont Street. I enjoy the downtown atmosphere, but this was my first stay at the El Cortez. The Good: The Tower rooms were clean, older furniture but comfortable, spacious, great maid service, good Internet...

Booked this hotel for 2 days and was not dissapointed. Room was spacious and clean, though interior is outdated. Location was great with Fremont Street Experience a block away. Everything is pretty much around the hotel, Greyhound bus station, restaurants, party place, lots of casino bars, you name it. The Filipina reception staff who checked us in was very friendly...

We stayed in the vintage rooms. The main areas were really clean but I found some pretty dusty corners. You could smell a hint to smoke in the room coming from the hallway, but not bad. Check in was quick and easy. The casino had a great vibe and was fun. The location of this hotel was awesome. The only...

Great drink service, never had an empty. Great craps, great roulette. I love the vibe of the casino. It was a fun time. Low limits, great place for low-rollers. I would come back. It is a great place.

I'll give El Cortez a very good rating for their price range. It is just two blocks from the Fremont Experience. I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on a room and only be there a few hours a night. They keep the room very clean and the hotel and garage was very secure. I will warn you...
