Nothing fancy but affordable. And most importantly it's nice and clean! Nothing modern but it does have a tv, microwave, and free wifi. Couple running the place is really nice as well. Just drive up and park in front of your room. AC/heater worked.

This is an extremely small town. This is also I believe the only hotel in town. It was a small room but clean and had the basics you need. There is only 1 restaurant and 1 gas station here. The grocery store closed at 6 so don't get there late looking for food.

We were passing through on our tour of the grasslands and had a great night in the town of Mullen and the Sandhills Motel. Very simple motel but super clean, lovely owners, right by the road but not loud and you could walk to the cafe across the street. The Middle Loup River stock tank float was hilarious and not...

The Sandhills Motel was simple lodging which impressed me with their cleanliness. We were traveling with another couple and the room had a square table that we were able to use to play cards - an added bonus. We came to go on a viewing of the grassland dance. I was impressed with the town. A small town of 500...

We stayed for one night as part of birdwatching trip. Mullen is a tiny town in the middle of the Nebraska Sandhills, so we weren't expecting a fancy hotel. We had a room with a queen bed (great mattress), a refrigerator, microwave, and a shower only bathroom. The heating/AC unit was loud enough to make it hard for me to...

We stayed here following a tanking trip down the Middle Loup River. The staff were kind and helpful getting us on the river and also in recommending a restaurant. We had a good trip down river and appreciated the many wildlife we saw on the way. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We will be back!

Immaculate rooms and comfortable beds are just the start. You're right in the heart of one of North America's finest wildernesses, the 20,000 square miles of the Nebraska Sandhills, and it's not unusual to see an eagle soaring overhead. You can make arrangements to be taken out into the hills to see birds and other wildlife, including greater prairie-chickens and...

Being the only choice in the area made debate a moot point so our expectations weren't real high. We got a pretty basic room that was clean and a reasonable value for the price. Owners were friendly and the place is motorcycle friendly. If trains bother you make sure you bring your ear plugs as the trains run at least...
