Stayed for three nights with my wife. We were met and made very welcome from the very start with coffee and homemade cake. The room was really comfortable and the linens and fittings were of a very high standard and immaculate. The en suite room was spotless and everything worked. Finally, the breakfast, a good choice of local sausages, bacon and the families own hens eggs. Home made bread, what more could you want.
Roger and Frances, our hosts, were warm and welcoming with every comfort provided to ensure that we felt at home. Rooms were clean, spacious and thoughtfully furnished. We stayed in The Garden Room which had its own door to the garden with a little table and chairs to sit while drinking our morning coffee and watching dozens of birds on the feeder. Breakfasts were generous and the local sausages and bacon were some of the best we have tasted. Our hosts even laid a table so that we could enjoy a take away on the last night. In all, nothing was too much trouble and nothing was left wanting. We can confidently recommend Buckland House to anyone wanting to explore the delights of this area. We certainly hope to return soon.
We are pleased to recommend Buckland House B&B. Having decided on Sunday to take a 2-day 1-night break-for-two exploring the East Suffolk coast, we were very fortunate via the website http://www.visitsuffolk.com/stay-in-suffolk/ to first find Buckland House itself and second that the downstairs Garden Room was available at instant notice for the following night that we were looking for. We really enjoyed our stay, Roger and Frances are most friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. We were greeted with lovely tea and home-baked cake, the Garden Room and en-suite bathroom were perfectly equipped, spotless, comfortable, quiet, and we have to mention the shower which we thought was just great. Breakfast was just as nice, and we should add that the entire house and gardens and abundant bird-life contributed to our overall appreciation. Not forgetting our original purpose, we found Buckland House very well located to explore the East Suffolk coast from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh including Kessingland, Southwold, Dunwich, Minsmere, Sizewell.…
Frances welcomed us with tea and home made cake on arrival and Roger helped with the luggage. The house is pretty and the room was comfortable and spotless with fresh flowers on the windowsill. Frances and Roger pay attention to detail. The only downside was the busy road, but that did make it convenient for getting to places. We had a room on the garden side, but I'm not used to traffic noise. Breakfast was excellent. We were there for 4 nights and we met some nice people at breakfast! The area is lovely, good pub restaurants not far away. We explored the countryside and the coast of lovely North Suffolk.
From the minute we arrived Roger and Frances made us feel at home, and even took our luggage in for us. We were staying in the garden room which was very comfortable and a bright room. For breakfast there is a very wide choice of items to suit every ones taste, but we can highly recommend the full english and with a selection of home products what more could you ask for. Overall it was a very pleasant and restful stay and we highly recommend Buckland House, thank you Roger and Frances for a lovely visit.
