Spent 2 awesome days here for a mates 50th. We travelled a long way... From Melbourne Australia... Also the road trip from Durban took us 8 hours due to road works... And to find the place once you turn off the highway you must print out their detailed directions - no GPS operation out here....! Russell was a terrific and...

Heard lots on social media about this place and decided to give it a bash. Firstly you do need a car with ride height to get there. If wet conditions you might even need more!! Was concerned about local kids en-route, but this was not an issue and DO NOT stop to give sweets etc. This just makes the problem...

A perfect place in a beautiful surrounding. It was very quit because we were the only guests. The huts were very good and had a great view over the beach or river. The solar showers were good and had also a great view over the ocean. We spotted lots of whales there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We...

Mtentu lodge sits in a jungle thicket atop a cliff overlooking the Mtentu river estuary and river mouth. It's difficult to describe how beautiful the area is - rolling hills, jungle gorges, incredible beaches, and a frankly ridiculous number of big waterfalls are within walking distance of the lodge. The lodge itself is a wooden structure that sits on stilts...

The drive in is awesome. Using the pictured directions from their website one almost feels you are on a treasure hunt and treasure...

Mtentu is the crown gem of the Wild Coast and Mtentu Lodge is a great access point to explore the area. It offers good value for money, especially with mid-week rates, and the hosts are knowledgeable and keen to help you make the most of your visit. However, given all the excellent reviews we read before our visit, we were...

In April we visited Mtentu for the second time (the first time was in Des 2013). This is a place of unparalleled beauty on the Wild Coast. Here you can walk for miles and miles without coming across any form of litter, and without seeing one single human. What you will see though, are river streams (with lots of waterfalls,...

We stayed at Mtentu for five days in December 2014. What a special place, we loved every minute of it! Great cabins with stunning views, great food and a terrific team of staff. Beautiful beaches, rivers, rockpools and waterfalls. Lovely walks along the beaches and into the Mkambati Nature Reserve. Unspoilt and commercialised - we loved it!
