Stayed in Apgar camp grounds as we have for several years in MT. Always knew Polebridge Mercantile had a bakery everyone was raving about down in Apgar, but did not want to drive a gravel road for 20+ miles...this time we decided to make the trip. I must say, the scenery is beautiful, as it is all over Glacier. Once...

We visited out of curiosity, not expecting much. We found a fantastic bakery and a bar/Resterant with a great vibe. Live music almost every night in July, staff are friendly and helpful. We camped just down the road for two nights and stayed in one of their cabins on the third night, simple but clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend visiting...

After new owners purchased a number of years ago the quality of baked goods and sandwiches have declined. Owner also owns a bakery in Columbia falls. The warm fuzzy feeling of the previous owners has left. Knick knacks made from local artisans has been replaced with t-shirts with logos. Old cash register is now an Ipad. Some might say the...

Upon checking in, we were very pleasantly surprised with our cabins. Although there is no running water or refrigerator, each cabin has a cooler for food and a large jug (probably about 5 gallons) for water, which can be obtained from a nearby hose. Bedding is provided and the beds are very comfortable. The guest outhouse has both toilet paper...

We headed there after our redbus tour in Glacier in the hopes of food, but found limited items here in that area. However, if you love old the old west, funky authentic Montana spots and GREAT baked goods, head here! There was a cafe next door we heard was good but it did not open til 4:00. We got sticky...

We found this spot by following a hashtag on Instagram about Glacier National Park. This place is adorable! A true, friendly REMOTE general store. Try the huckleberry bear claws. So fresh! This is true Americana out west. Just darling. The ride out there is gorgeous!

Interesting. That's about it. We spent a 7 day vacation at Glacier National Park in early July. Our first day I had planned months before to drive the 'outside road' to Polebridge Mercantile and then drive into Whitefish for the rest of the day. I read that the road was full of potholes and dusty. Actually, from Camas Road to...

We didn't hit them on the way in but while we were at the lake a couple that we had met earlier in the week at another campsite told us about the place and to make sure we checked it out and that we did! Started off with a simple coffee run but after a whiff of some freshly made...

When you drive nearly to Canada and come to a place that is off-grid in the middle of nowhere you don't expect to have your socks blown off. How wrong I was. The baked goods where delicious, especially the huckleberry macaroons. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. To think a world-class scratch bakery next to Glacier Park. A must...

The Polebridge Mercantile clearly advertises what it has to offer--rustic cabins and yummy baked goods. The huckleberry Bear Claw was to die for. Because you know in advance what you are renting--an old cabin with mismatched beds and furniture, outhouse, no running water, etc, the reality is totally OK when you are experiencing it. The setting is beautiful. I will...
