We rented a cabin for two nights. Clean, comfortable, great for dogs. Nothing but kindness and help from Anni, who runs the Sanctuary. She even helped me (notoriously terrible with technology) get the Direct TV going in the community space. Great food offerings for breakfast -- including local farm eggs. We felt like we were in a home away from...

The facilities are nice, there is a common room with hot tub, pool table and entertainment center. But the heat, which you are not allowed to control, goes down to 65 by 10 pm. The cabin we stayed in was too small to do anything but sleep, alas the bed was so uncomfortable I got none. Also when tossing and...

Dear Worst Bed, Thank you for your review. The sheets are changed every time guests check out before new guests check in. I personally clean everything and work very hard to keep things clean and tidy. The bed in cabin one is not an old mattress just very firm, we have ordered a new one and this should fix the...

How much you would enjoy staying here depends entirely on your travel preferences and your expectations. If you value local management and a non-chain environment over some amenities and would enjoy something like a hostel with private rooms, this is your place. The Sanctuary is a converted historic church with wonderful architectural features and creatively decorated. The local manager was...

Dear Mixed Feelings, Thank you for your review. As the manager I appreciate guest reviews so I can improve to make there stay more enjoyable. I do not live in the hotel I'm just a short distance away to help guests with anything they might need, unfortunately I didn't make myself clear. I will work on that. Cabins have longer...

The Sanctuary was fantastic! Walking distance to everything downtown. Cute, clean cabins. Nice private yard with a fire pit. Great place for the dogs to hang out. Great deck with a hot tub and views! Also the indoor hot tub in the game room...with a big screen tv...who doesn't want to relax in a hot tub and watch cable!! And...

We had been looking forward to staying here but were still surprised at how comfortable the rooms were and the fantastic amenities. We stayed in the Green Room which was beautifully decorated and enjoyed the hot tub, played some pool, and read in front of the fireplace. In the morning Annie prepared a fantastic breakfast with eggs from her chickens,...

Fully recommend! The building itself is wonderful although we stayed in a cabin out back. The cabin was very c lean as well as the bathroom. Has a nice back yard area that we got to keep our dog in. Hot tub on the back deck was an awesome place to watch the sunset and the indoor hottub is right...

A friend of mine found out about this place so we thought we give it a try- the price was right and we wanted to be able to walk vs drive. It's 1 block from Uptown, but off the beaten path enough that it was super quiet. We stayed in the little cabins in the back. Nicely appointed, basic. If...

We stayed here Labor Day weekend on a bike trip from Kentucky to Montana. I strongly recommend this place because it's clean, comfortable, interesting and just a little odd, but in a good way! Philipsburg is such a cool old place and the Sanctuary is right up the hill from the main drag of town. It's an easy walk down...

My husband and I stayed at the Sanctuary this past weekend, and what a treat! We found the inn on the Internet, and we're so glad! The church to inn conversion is so fun and interesting! Colleen at check-in was very friendly, and showed us everything the inn had to offer. From the hand painted murals, to the nicely appointed...

“The green room and blue room are the main indoor rooms and are normal rooms like a B&B or hotel with private baths. They are redecorating an upstairs room as a honeymoon suite which will have a private kitchen area. For a cheaper alternative, the two private cabins are right by the main building and you have access to the pool table and lounging area where your bathrooms are located.”
