We stayed at Playa Escondida in November 2012 for 10 days and would rate it a number 10. Our accommodation was Chachalacca in Bird Canyon and it was perfect for relaxing with a wonderful view of the forest and sunrises. The trips to and from the beach in our golf cart were an added fun adventure every day. The beach...

We stayed there for five nights (Luna Serena). The location is beautiful, the food very well prepared, the staff welcoming and always helpful. In fact, the staff was outstanding. If you are looking for a boutique resort away from it all, with no shops and no gym and no screaming kids, then this is the place for you. My one...

This very small, family run resort is beautiful. The cabins are either overlooking the beach or privately nestled into the jungle slopes. The grounds are extremely well groomed with beach, small infinity pool, infinity hot tub and spa. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey but the meals (including breakfast) are exceptional. The Rocosa Cabin is awesome with the open...

Playa Escondida is a plane ride away from reality. The jungle location, outstanding service, architectural features, & roar of the sea, create a seaside paradise. The secluded, impeccably manicured beach was beautiful. The ocean current was strong and although swimming was prohibitive on this visit, I still managed to venture in the ocean a few times. The gorgeous negative edge...

We have been regular visitors to Playa Escondida for five years and will keep going back. No other place makes us feel so at home and the food is absolutely fabulous. We have brought many friends with us and everyone loves it. It is the perfect getaway and we can't wait until our next trip!

We just returned from a week here. We had so much fun. The staff makes you feel part of the family and go out of there way to accomplish any of your request. The rooms are all open to outside, fresh air, & sounds of the ocean. The food is great. All rooms are different and full of fun art...

This hotel is as luxurious as a camping. Our rooms were dim, sandy and cave-like with low quality furnishings and fixtures. It wasn't until I arrived home, after staying here for eight days, that I could properly clean up, let alone see my face in a mirror. Several items were broken in each room and were not fixed, even after...

We're sorry you didn't have a perfect stay. Unfortunately you were with us when there was a regional power brownout which damaged our pumps and pool equipment as well as dimming the lights for us and the whole area. Most of our guests took it in stride and enjoyed their vacations nonetheless. We surely would have done everything possible to...

We stayed at Playa Escondida for a long weekend on our anniversary. It was a perfect choice. Small boutique hotel with a dozen or so rooms. Excellent small beach. Even more excellent staff and food/drinks. Highly recommend!

Celebrating a birthday that would be memorable, wanting to spend time with myself in a bungalow on the beach with some services provided and swimming in the ocean were some of my preferences for my trip. When I saw Playa on the Internet it seemed to fill my bill. Contact was easy they had availability for me, booked a flight,...

Let me start by letting you know that I hesitate to write this review in fear that others will "discover" this little piece of heaven and make it more difficult to book here ... but that would be selfish and everybody should know about Playa Escondida! We stayed 11 nights. This is not your typical resort hotel with all inclusive...
