Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This little B & B offers good, comfortable, and clean rooms in a private home, on a quiet side street for a very, very reasonable price. The owners were quite welcoming. Breakfast was traditional (bacon & eggs, toast, yoghurt) and well prepared. Wifi and parking included by the way. Actually quite a good place to stay for those wishing to visit the area. We had a great sleep after a day of hiking and were well-fed the next morning.

Note: The Bottom Brook trail was a 5-min walk away, grocery and liquor stores just a 10-min walk.

By this time we decided B&B was the ONLY way to enjoy Newfoundland and Jill and Rex did not disappoint. They came recommended by The Crows Nest Inn. Room comfortable with a beautiful quilt on the bed. Breakfast great. There are not a lot of eateries in St. Anthony and the tourist info is out of date.

Had a great stay here with my wife and 4 month old baby in the room with private bathroom. The house is nicely renovated and rooms are a good size. Excellent breakfast each morning and Jill and Rex were very nice. Would recommend staying here. Check them out on BandB Canada as there are updated photos compared to their website. Thanks again for a great stay.

This recently renovated modern home has three (3) guest rooms situated in a private “guest wing” just off the main family home. The hosts, born and raised in the area, were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was rather small with a comfy double bed & pillows and lovely linens. The Wifi service was super. We enjoyed a delicious full made-to-order breakfast, including the coveted home-made Bake-Apple (think honey & apricot) and Partridge Berry jams you'll come to love if you spend any time in Newfoundland.

Two (2) of the rooms share a bathroom while one (1) has a private bathroom. There is a common “sitting-room” with a television situated in the main part of the house; we didn’t make use of this. The B&B is situated in a residential area, very quiet. You can't see bay from here but it’s a very short drive to town centre. St-Anthony’s is a great location and you can easily spend a couple days visiting iceberg/whale watching sites, the Grenfell museum, small towns and bay and the Viking Settlement.

TIP: The hot water in the shower has a safety switch which, unless turned off, won't allow the water to get hot. It’s meant to prevent someone from scaling themselves. Just remember to ask the Host before you hop in how to turn it off; unfortunately we weren’t aware of this until we were leaving so our showers were barely warm.

Enjoyed our one stay - our room was large and had an ensuite. The room was very clean. TV provided in the room. Breakfast was the highlight - wonderful bacon and eggs with homemade toast. Great coffee as well. Gillian is a wonderful host.

Our host was amiable enough, the room was large and clean and the breakfast was ok. Sort of bland all round like you'd expect from the suburbs. That was our overall feeling anyway; no 'value added' with this experience. We had to pay cash, the top rate of $100 to boot, and Mastercard wasn't accepted.

We felt at home. The room was spacious and confortable. The bathroom was in the hallway but for our exclusive use. The breakfast was full and delicious and we meet interesting guests. There was even homemade jam.

Jillian, our host was friendly and outgoing. Her home is large and clean. Our shared bath was well stocked with towels, soap and shampoos. Breakfast was generous and a friendly time meeting other guests. Location is a residential neighborhood. The price was fair.
