Right on the water with a deck I didn't want to leave. Our room was quite small, but well appointed and very comfy. We slept with the window open for the ocean breezes and woke up to the view of the water and town. Donna is a great hostess and even better cook. Breakfast was made from local ingredients, including moose sausage and cod cakes. It was the best ever. She was accommodating even after we left. I forgot something in the room, and it was waiting for me when we got home. Thanks, Donna.

We spent two days with Donna, the owner of the Fishing Point B&B. Our room was delightfully decorated and very comfortable. We had a great view of the harbour and icebergs. Donna's breakfasts were very creative, in that she offered several samples of Newfoundland cooking.
She also provided printed information of the many things to do in and around St Anthony. If you decide to stay there, make sure that you agree on a specific time for check-in. She lives elsewhere and leaves the B&B locked. There is a telephone number for calling her but if you don't have a cell phone, you will have to to the shopping center for a telephone. When you get your key then all is well.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Donna's. The rooms are small but cozy. The ensuite is decent. Although everything is small and cozy -- everything is clean. Very comfortable. The view when you get up is amazing. Hearing the water when you get up makes you just want to stay in bed all day. Donna makes a hot breakfast for you in the morning (moose sausage, pancakes, baked beans, fish cakes....) Quite the elaborate affair! She can even cater to you if you are a vegetarian! There is wifi, which was refreshing after days without connection. We were the youngest couple there at breakfast - but thoroughly enjoyed the conversations with the other guests. Will definitely stay there again!

We arrived at this place at 7pm after driving 11 hours. We didn’t do anything that night. Just slept after our long drive. The next morning we were back on the road at 10 am. The home was lovely, that was not the problem. It was the owner of the air B&B Bonnie. She was absolutely horrible to deal with and left such a bad taste in our mouth. An hour or so after we left, the text messages started. She was upset about this and that. All we did there was sleep. She went so far as to be upset we put garbage in the outside garbage bin. I stripped the sheets off my bed and placed them on the floor along with the dirty towels. Apparently you are supposed to leave the sheets on the beds. My bad. If you are staying at this place, please read the rule book Bonnie as placed on the table. There are many rules to familiar yourself with. We are shocked with how this woman acted!

The interesting part was that we watched Les-the hostess' husband cleaning the just- caught mackerel that we would have for breakfast next morning, on the flake (the wharf where formerly cod was dried in the sun). Also met interesting travellers and had wine and snacks with them sitting out on the wharf while watching the fish preparation.

Pumps ran all night right under our bed. No heat until 9:30 pm. Private bath was out in the hall with no privacy to and from.
The breakfast was awful - an attempt to be cute that failed. Breakfast was very slow desipte the woman knowing we were in a hurry. People smoked in the rooms despite signs saying no smoking and the smoke could be smelt everywhere.
Parking was an experience of stoping on two 45 degree slopes and backing out onto a busy road with poor lines of sight

In a recent 16 day visit to Newfoundland, we stayed one night at this B&B. While the bed was very comfortable, our room was very very small with only a small window; the queen bed needed to be pushed up against this window.Fortuately we only brought in a small overnight bag; There would not have been anywhere to have put a large bag ; as well the stairs leading down to the bedrooms were fairly narrow.
This B&B(of 15) was the only B&B that asked for payment soon after arrival; it was the only B&B that had a set time for breakfast(Breakfast will be at 8!) All others had a range of time and always asked what was best for the guest. In addition, there was no choice at breakfast- we were presented with a plate which was suppose to be a representation or sample of Newfoundland food; One guest really enjoyed breakfast because he ate most of everyone else's when we were there!
On arrival we were invited to make our own tea -other places welcomed us with partridge berry coffee cake, another place fresh biscuits with tea, cookies and tea etc etc
While this B&B may be described as quaint, for us it lacked the generous willingness to accomodate the guests that we found in all the other outstanding B&B where we were made to feel so welcome.(as opposed to being part of a business transaction)

Easy to find, great location, cozy comfortable rooms, has its own wharf with a fantastic harbor view. Donna, the host , provides a wealth of tourist tips along with fantastic breakfasts done with a touch of local fare. Highly recommended place to stay.

This B&B has a beautiful location and is certainly quaint. The breakfast was quite delicious and just the right quantity so I was able to finish it. It would have been nice not to be obliged to eat at 8 am. The room was the tiniest I have ever seen and if one was in the slightest bit overweight, I don't think one would be able to enter the bathroom let alone get between the bed and the wall. The towels were very small, thin and worn. So - some good points but I have seen much better.

For anyone looking for a great bed and breakfast in St Anthony, Newfoundland, stop here and call Donna or Les now and yes book here. We are from New Brunswick and I had to go to St Anthony for both work and some pleasure too of course. We arrived in St Anthony late around 8:00pm and we called Donna that we had finally arrived. She greeted us with a big smile and happy that we had arrived and gladly showed us the house and the room etc.. We really enjoyed the rooms, we stayed for three (3) nights, but not in a row and we got the opportunity to stay in two of the three rooms and enjoyed them both. The part that we loved the most was to be able to sit on the deck outside in her comfortable patio furniture under a roof and enjoy the scenic view of the water just a stone's throw away. Also during the night you can see the water from your room window and even open the window and hear the waves hitting the rocks, how peaceful it was. And last but not least, Donna prepares you a fantastic breakfast every morning with the Newfoundland culture in mind and I must add that we had three different breakfasts on the three nights stay and all we fantastic. She prepares her own jams, baked apple, something rubbarb and the other is like a berry jam and all were great. We got to taste some of the area's traditions like Moose sausage, cod for breakfast, crab legs too. Donna is a great host and knows how to interact easily with people and she enjoys to chat and explain you about any questions you may have about the area. She will even share stories about their Winters and when they have to deal with sometimes with the big POLAR BEAR that happens to visit from time to time.
We would definitely recommend this Bed and Breakfast to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area and yes, we would definitely stay there again.

Colin C asked a question Jan 2018
Hamilton, Canada
I need their contact info to try to book a stay
Answer from Bjorn44

It is not allowed to give any internet addresses here, I have tried, but I see from internet that just by a search for Fishing Point Bed and Breakfast you will get several options to book through booking systems. There is an organisation for Bed and Breakfast places in Canada. I searched them for BB in Newfoundland, Western Region, St. Anthony, clicked on the picture and got the contact information. Then sent my question through the "Click Here to E-Mail us". A couple of days later I got the answer from Fishing Point B&B directly. Try that if you cannot go through any of the ordinary booking systems. Best of luck, kind regards Bjorn

Having a hard time finding you, to make a reservation. Can you send me a website that I can contact you.
Answer from Caribbeancrazy243
Winnipeg, Canada177 contributions89 helpful votes
Just go to a web site entitled BB canada(had to put it this way because you cannot put web site addresses in the posting) and enter the name of the B&B. There is an e-mail address and phone numbers to contact the B&B. You cannot book directly on the web site, you have to talk directly to the owner or send an e-mail. By the way I would recommend the room that is directly at the back so you are right over the water. One of the 3 rooms you have to go into the hall to access your own bathroom(not this room). Hope this helps. By the way I am not the owner just someone who stayed there in September 2017

I'd like to know room rates for June 23 & 24 as well as evening entertainment in area.
Answer from Judy N
BC, anada117 contributions111 helpful votes
Sorry, I can't remember the room rate and can't answer your question about entertainment question either, The B&B is on the edge of town and our entertainment was only going out for dinner. We really didn't go to NFld for entertainment. Sorry to be so little help. Suggest you Google the name of the town and note what kind of things are on.
