A different and pleasant expereince. Very quaint and cosy place with 7 rooms and a common living room and kitchen for guests. Owners were not in. Went fishing. Newly furnished. Rooms has its own fridge and coffee maker. Water from tap is slightly brownish, but it is the same with other hotels too. Wifi is a bit slow. Recommended stay.

I had booked the Inn for 2 couples, not knowing what it was about. We all fell in love with the place. Now, let be start by saying that even though, it is marketed as a B&B, they do not serve breakfast. There is a full kitchen at your disposal. The rooms are spacious enough and very clean. The living room, dining room and kitchen were great. We usually ended our day by chilling in the living room, either reading a book or talking with the owners. Which brings me to the staff. Christina, her family and staff were first rate. We became friends by the 4th night. I highly recommend this INN for your stay in St-Anthony.

We stayed 3 nights in St Anthony and it was a great place to stay. The hosts do not live in the building but are not far away and they leave a phone so you can call if you need them. The entire home has been renovated and is decorated in a very warm country theme. The rooms were very nice with our own bathroom. At breakfast we met some great people from all around the world. Breakfast was simple but good, we had lots of homemade jams with berries from the area. If you wanted a larger breakfast you ca order it and they will make it for you but there is an extra 6.95 cost. We did it one day but the other days we had their basic and certainly did not leave hungry. On our final evening we had been out just touring and upon return the host greeted us at the door and told us to leave our shoes on and come quick. There was a mama moose and twins on the grass in front of the deck. We were able to stand on the deck and watch her as she munched on the grasses and leaves. It was an incredible way to finish off our stay. It is a little more than some others but not the most expensive we stayed at on our trip. I would stay there again.

We stayed at the Crow's Nest B&B in St Anthony, a poor choice because it was much more expensive than it was worth, and the hosts were almost never around. Breakfast was included, unless you wanted a hot breakfast, which was a lot extra.

We stayed at various B&B's during a ten day vacation in Newfoundland. Crows nest was the most expensive B&B we stayed in but would rank last in terms of staff welcome/friendliness and the breakfast offered did not meet the standards set by competitor B&B/s. I think implicit in the name B&B is that breakfast is included in your room charge. Throughout Newfoundland we were treated to delicious breakfasts that included home made jams, pancakes. french toast, eggs, bacon, sausages, etc..but at Crows Nest you receive cold cereal and toast. I felt like i was being nickled and dimed over breakfast and refused to pay an additional charge to receive something resembling the breakfasts offered at competitor B&B's. The rooms were very nicely decorated but small. I would have liked to have a small desk in my room for lap top use. Rooms were spotlessly clean. We would would not return to this B&B as we did not feel we received good value for the money.

We checked in and got to our rooms. All was well and we went to shop for dinner and breakfast food and $117 later I returned . Then the surprise of our stay. The stove doesn’t work. Nor the BBQ.
How about a sign that says “Stove Doesn’t Work” or better yet, tell all the guests when they arrive.
So what does one do with $117 worth of bacon and eggs and dinner food that you can’t cook???
Perhaps remove the stove, frying pans, spatulas???

My husband and I were "winging it" and after the long drive up the Newfoundland coast arrived in St Anthony without reservations. Using the Canada tourist book we chose the Crow's Nest and frankly were in no state to be picky. We arrived to a note on the door which requested that room inquiries be made using the phone which was neatly laid in a basket ar the door on a piece of seal skin. Christina answered and said she had room and would send her husdband Lott right over. They live up the lane and he settled us in. We had the run of the whole house--beautiful, updated and tastefully decorated. Our bed overlooks the harbor as does the large breakfast room and deck. It exceeded all of our expectations. I heartily recommend Crow' Nest.

The owner, Christine, was there to greet us when we arrived. Our son was able to play with her children which was great. She was very kind and spent much time with us. The decor was very nice, the place was very clean, and the breakfast was good. Our room had a queen bed and a twin bed, so our son could have his own bed. Overall, a good experience.

The 3 summers that I have stayed here were wonderful experiences. The staff are friendly, The hosts, Christina and Lott are well informed and genuine. The meals are always delicious and filling. The beds remind me of going to my mothers house, always comfortable cozy. The sheets were line dried outside, you can smell the fresh air as you drift off to sleep. Lotts sense of humor and cooking are worth going to St. Anthony for!! Christina's thoughtfulness and kindness are second to none. Its nice to sit in the livingroom in the evening and talk to other tourists about the area.

We stayed at the Crow's Nest Inn for one night in June 2008. We found the B&B on BBCanada and from the website it looked ideal. We were scheduled to stay 5 nights but moved out after the first night. The people running the B&B seemed very nice but the room we were given was not acceptable. The room had just been painted or the floor varnished, I'm not sure which, but the smell gave us headaches within minutes. We had to open all the windows (which was not great as the outdoor temperature was about 9 degrees C with rain). The room was large enough - but had no closet or even hooks to hang clothes from. There was a dresser that seemed like it had been rescued as driftwood - the drawers were seized shut from the damp and when we finally wrenched one open it was full of junk. The website had stated that all rooms had cable TV but there was no TV at all in the room. The bed was a queen size - but had no brakes on the rollers and since there was no other place to sit we ended up rolling away from the wall every time we tried to sit up to read, etc. We ended up using towels to wedge the bed in place. Also, the top sheet on the queen bed was a double size, and the blanket was a single. As we had to sleep with the windows open because of the smell we ended up sleeping in our clothes with one of us using the thin single blanket and the other using the bedspread. The bathroom was poorly set up - opening the door banged the toilet, the hot and cold water taps were backwards, there was no garbage can. On the positive side, the breakfast was good and, as mentioned before, the owners were pleasant. However, it was a disappointing experience - especially for the price we paid ($96 including taxes). Our other B&B's in Newfoundland averaged about $75-80 and were all very good.

Response from Janet006, manager at Crows Nest Inn
Responded 28 Apr 2009
We regret the experience that the Saskatoon travellers had as guests at our B&B. It was a result of the delay in the completion of our renovations. We had hoped to have our upgrades completed and supplies delivered before the season started but there was not enough time to finish. However, since 2008 we have completed our renovations that has improved the quality of our accommodations.
