The location can't be beat. But this place has been ridden hard and is beat up. The rooms have a small balcony with a great view of the water. The room was small, clean and serviceable. The bathroom had a phone booth size shower with water pressure and temperature issues. Towels were threadbare - BUT there were two bathrobes in...

My girlfriend and I had a blast at these very friendly apartments and our studio was very clean and it had everything we wanted. The staff at the reception were always cheerful and the breakfast was second to none. If there was one thing that set this hotel apart for us was the location and the beach and we are...

This hotel is one we return to year after year after year. Salema just pulls us back and the hotel is a major reason why. It may not be the most modern hotel, but it is clean, every room has a sea view, it has an amazing group of friendly staff who have worked there for years, and has a...

We stayed in a double room and is was a perfectly good room. There was a tiny balcony you could step out to. The view is sort of beach, sort of town. Close to beach, 1 - 2 minute walk. The beach was great! There was parking. There were lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Its not fancy or...

Hotel is a bit dated but clean and functional. I have to say I found the staff very unfriendly and not a bit helpful. I was on a cycling holiday and needed a day off and this was the only place in town that had rooms available. I did think the breakfast was really good. Rooms were basic but had...

All the rooms have balconies that face the beach. Great for enjoying a bottle of wine and people watching. Everything is within walking distance. The beds were uncomfortable. I put one of the extra blankets under the bottom sheet and that helped. The breakfast was very good, hot scrambled eggs, breads, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, meat and cheese.

The hotel is 'slap bang' in the middle of the village, 100m from the beach. Every room has a small balcony with a sea view. The staff are very accommodating and it was a pleasure to return to the room to find made beds and rooms clean and tidy. The breakfast was adequate rather than good, in my view; there...

We have friends who own a villa in Salema and were all going out to celebrate a Birthday. So there were 8 couples staying there for different lengths of time. We booked a double room. The rooms are basic but have everything that you need, air conditioning is efficient and quiet. Shower rooms are very small but spotless, balconies all...

We read about Salema in Rick Steves book...that it was a smaller fishing/beach town that hadn't got overdeveloped like some other places in the Algarve region. He was right, and we stayed at the hotel he recommended. It's right in the centre, just across the road from the beach. The parking is free, but there is no designated lot...just wherever...

The hotel is literally across the road from what is a lovely beach at Salema. We have been visiting The village for 25 years but never stayed there until now. The hotel breakfast is a grand little buffet with loads of fresh bread. There is a tiny lift if you need it to get to the upper floors. Rooms are...
