We love the Alentejo region and spent two lovely nights at Monte Alerta, just five hours by car from Madrid. Were unlucky to have rainy weather, but were made to feel absolutely at home in this lovely comfortable house, tea by the fireside... Nothing was too much trouble for the family members, special thanks to Sérgio for fixing a temporary...

The house and the rooms are very well decorated and clean and the breakfast was also fresh and very good. The owner, very helpful and friendly, gave us great tips about area and recommended us great restaurants and wine. The Dark Sky experience was great and we would for sure like to repeat it.

WOW! This family owned and run B&B rates at the top of the many places we've stayed at during our numerous trips to Europe. Right from the minute we arrived the family made us feel like we were family in their home AND what a home!! This centuries old home, at the foot of the ancient walled city of Monsaraz,...

From the moment we arrived we understood why the previous reviewers had rated the place so highly. The hotel is definitely of a boutique style with countless artefacts and antique furniture in the public areas. The bedrooms are superb. Again filled with individual pieces of antique furniture. Extremely clean and comfortable bed with a huge bathroom, with bath and shower....

We only stayed one night, but felt really welcome. Nice and spaceous room with en-suite bathroom and AC, everything was clean, the building was a gorgeous old family home where it was wonderfully cool. The swimming pool and the surounding gardens were another highlight, we could have spent several more days there. The only downside was the included breakfast, which...

Another summer, another passage by Monte Alerta, my place to start my annual vacation and to rest in Alentejo. Light, weather, pool, view, facilities and beer, everything 5 star. By night we always have the opportunity to admire the dark sky of Monsaraz area. Amazing ...

Excellent tipical Alentejo farm house with an excellent modern touch. Excellent management team. We will come back for sure. Great worm water pool (in the summer of course) and brilliant ideias from the management team for night skylight partys at the yard and at the pool.

A haven of peace close to Monsaraz, a small village with incredible charm on top of a hill. Warm welcome in an old farmhouse in which we felt the family history. Very nice swimming pool in a quiet garden. Nice rooms and good quality bedding. Good restaurants nearby. A place to visit and to stay more than one night.

The perfect place to stay when visiting Monsaraz specially with kids around. Nice gardens and pool. Rooms with airconditoned and many cosy areas to hang around. super friendly staff. Also serve lunches with prebooking so guests can enjoy the place. From here all main attractions are a short drive away. We return each year!
