I travel Missouri extensively looking for 'out of the way' spots that provide easy access to the state's beautiful natural settings. Rock Eddy is one of the best sites for this escape. I stayed in the rustic but quite functional "Aunt Phoebe", and found what I was looking for- quiet, nostalgic, and simple living for just a few days. I...

My husband surprised me some 15 years ago for my birthday and we have returned every year since, alternating spring and fall. We started with Line Camp and totally fell in love with being off the grid. We watched Phoebe's rise from the ground and now have the dilemma of which location to choose stay in come spring or fall....

I went to Rock Eddy for the first time in March with my dog Finn. We had the best time. Very peaceful and it gave you the feeling of times past. We stayed in Line Camp a wonderful one room cabin that takes you back to a time when there were no electronics and you had to draw water from...

Our second time at Rock Eddy Bluff Farm! We met a couple that had been back twice a year for twenty some years and had a wonderful time meeting new friends and old friends. It is not easy to get to but it is well worth the trip off the beaten path. Kathy and Tom Corey are the most gracious...

So happy to have your here again. And, on such a fine spring day in the ozarks. The dogwood and redbud splashed in the hills welcomed you as did both of us at Stickney Hall Cottage.

I found Rock Eddy while looking for a place not too far away from St. Louis to travel to with my dogs. I knew exactly what I wanted -- simplicity. I wanted someplace to go that would give me the sense of being alone in the woods. I wanted to hear the sounds of nature -- river flowing, birds, coyotes....

We went here initially because they allowed dogs and because of the wonderful pictures on their website. We will come back for sure! What a peaceful, wonderful place. Directions on Rock Eddy's website are good and accurate. We arrived without getting lost. The owners, Tom and Cathy, met us at their home, along with a resident dog, Ike, who has...

When folks enjoy one of the unique places in the woods, we find we experience some of the enjoyment with them. True, not everyone will appreciate Line Camp Cabin, but with those that do, we seem to find a special kinship. We made the cabin with our own vision of what kind of sense/feeling such a place could generate. When...

I don't really even know where to start with this review. We had such a wonderful stay at Aunt Phoebe's Perch 28-30 December 2012. Upon our arrival, Kathy greeted us at the bluff house to show us the lay of the land and go over a few necessities before she escorted us down to Aunt Phoebe's. We received a thorough...

My girlfriend and I have a habit of finding out-of-the-way places to spend a weekend here and there, and often gravitate towards the rustic and well-worn. While exciting, this approach can also be quick route to disappointment when you show up a few hours from civilization and don't find the offerings to resemble the advertisement. This is not a worry...

This was our 3rd time coming here since 1999. The first time was at Turkey Ridge with friends, the second time was as a couple in the Treehouse Suite and this time as a family in Aunt Phoebe’s Perch. Each time we come here our expectations are exceeded and we look forward to coming back. The grounds are beautiful and...

For a number of years we've spent a fall week-end at Rock Eddy Bluff in October or early November. We look forward to it as if to a return to Eden! Rock Eddy has other, more modern accommodations, but we choose to stay in their "Line Camp Cabin"--a small 1840's style cabin that's the coziest place you'll ever see. It's...

We know you love autumn at Rock Eddy Bluff, but can't remember if you have come in the winter. Since Line Camp cabin is your preference, have you ever stoked the woodstove to keep the cabin warn and braced against the chill on your way to the privy? It is truly a unique experience, and one that we think is...
