Having eaten here in May my wife and I booked a room for B&B in July for an overnight stop on the way south from Scotland. When we arrived at 5.00 pm the pub was closed and nobody to check us in so we had to go to the beach for an hour. When we returned the pub was open...

Stopped off on the way up the A1 and so glad we did. The service was super friendly. And the food was delicious. Recommend Black pudding fritter, goats cheese salad, burger and the pork pie. Fantastic food. So much better than MacDonalds!!! Look out for the sign on the A1. Olive green and classy.

We visited whilst staying locally in the village, having tried to get to the bar when we arrived on the Saturday we knew it was popular from the large crowd gathered both inside and out. We booked an early evening meal (accommodating old folks) and were delighted that our four legged pup could join us. Food, service, surroundings and price...

I accept we were a slightly last minute booking and were lucky to get the two bedrooms we required. However, these were very "tight" (I kept banging my shins on the bed legs) and need a little updating. We did peek into the other three rooms (they had been vacated) and two of these were lovely and a good size....

Dinner here Friday night on recommendation and even though they had group of 40 plus dining, there was no delay and very prompt and attentive service. Seared salmon was delicious. Only after meal we were told regular chef on 3 weeks holiday and landlords wife was cooking!! Well done and watch out regular chef!

It's a few months since we went to the Pack Horse. I am delighted to say the food is still excellent. Service was very good too. Plenty of menu choice without going over the top. We chose tempura prawns, duck with blackberry and a salad for starters. Main course for two of us was the rare beef which was superb...

After a days diving in 10 degree water this is exactly what I wanted. We were quite late, so didn't bother with starters. Most of us went for the steak which cooked to perfection in each case. Excellent flavour and good fries/salad too. The vegetarian option was a small portion but as soon as this was mentioned the chef quickly...

Found on yell.com and booked in advance of our weekend break. Charming setting. Delightful decor- all recently done. Service -pleasant but distracted. Food- menu not quite as varied as website sample but adequate choice and selection. Kitchen staff prompt and beautiful presentation. We especially enjoyed tomato bread to start.
