Value
We are based on the outskirts of award winning village of Abbeyshrule, and a short drive to Ballymahon Town. Abbeyview House is a period property which was built in the mid 1800's and was later used as a Garda Barracks but is now a family home on a small working farm of cattle ,sheep, horses and hens . It has been restored to a high level of comfort and contains all modern conveniences but has retained its many original features. We have 3 Bedrooms which include 2 family rooms and 1 double room, accommodating a total of 9 adults. We are within a 2 minute walk to the Royal Canal Greenway and a 5 minute walk to Abbeyshrule Airfield. We also have the beautiful Newcastle Forest on our doorstep. We work with Midland Cycle Hub and you can collect or drop off your hired bicycle at Abbeyview House. We are more than happy to help with any query and if we cannot help we will do our best to send you in the right direction.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here on NYE 2022 and the hosts were amazing. My flight was delayed which meant I didn’t get in till 9pm they gave me a free bottle of wine to celebrate the NY as the shops had closed by the time I got there. the full Irish breakfast was amazing and bed was so comfortable. Hosts made it feel like a home highly recommend

Last time I stayed in a B&B was the 80’s. Abbey view House has changed my mind completely. Stayed here with my grown up family for a night and we all loved it. Lovely rooms, a warm welcome from Susan the host and a fab Irish breakfast. I would highly recommend a stay.

One of the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in! The house is absolutely beautiful, very clean and great hosts! My son and I walked the short distance to the local pub for dinner which was delicious. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer but would 💯 visit again beautiful part of Ireland! Thank you we loved it 😍.

You need look no further than Susan and Edward for truly outstanding hospitality. This is what staying at a BnB should be like. Every box ticked, expectations exceeded, and next level comfort and service. Abbeyshrule is very lucky to have these wonderful people, and we were very lucky to have found them. 5 Stars all the way…

What is best about this is the couple that run it. They are super, welcoming and informative about the area and genuinely interested in their guests.

The room we stayed in was fab with big high ceilings and a lovely comfy bed and pleasant country views. It has only been open a couple of months and the hosts have done a wonderful job of bringing an old house back to life.

It is in a great location to do some exploring of the centre of Ireland and is walking distance to the village where you can have tasty fresh food in the Rustic stone. As it is almost on the Royal Canal it is ideal for walking or cycling. We will be back.

I loved everything about this B&B. Susan is a fantastic host - accommodating, kind, helpful, a delight to chat with. The home is beautiful, completely renovated and kept true to period colours and decor. The room I had was amazing (King bed suite) and the breakfast Susan provides will keep you going for the entire day. Across the road from the B&B is the old Abbey Ruins, worth a wander through to explore and experience. I did my jaunt through the ruins at dusk/sunset, which added a certain nuance and reverence to the walkthrough. This was, by far, my best stay on my recent trip through Ireland. I cannot recommend highly enough Susan and Abbeyview House. And, as its name states, it has a direct view of the Abbey ruins up the road. This is a top-notch B&B. I will be returning!
