We are based on the outskirts of award winning village of Abbeyshrule, and a short drive to Ballymahon Town. Abbeyview House is a period property which was built in the mid 1800's and was later used as a Garda Barracks but is now a family home on a small working farm of cattle ,sheep, horses and hens . It has been restored to a high level of comfort and contains all modern conveniences but has retained its many original features. We have 3 Bedrooms which include 2 family rooms and 1 double room, accommodating a total of 9 adults. We are within a 2 minute walk to the Royal Canal Greenway and a 5 minute walk to Abbeyshrule Airfield. We also have the beautiful Newcastle Forest on our doorstep. We work with Midland Cycle Hub and you can collect or drop off your hired bicycle at Abbeyview House. We are more than happy to help with any query and if we cannot help we will do our best to send you in the right direction.

Last time I stayed in a B&B was the 80’s. Abbey view House has changed my mind completely. Stayed here with my grown up family for a night and we all loved it. Lovely rooms, a warm welcome from Susan the host and a fab Irish breakfast. I would highly recommend a stay.

Stayed here last weekend absolutely beautiful B&B, the decor is amazing. Large spacious room beautiful comfortable bed, gorgeous en suite bathroom. Warm and cosy. Hosts are a pleasure very welcoming, breakfast the following morning was delicious. We stayed here as we were going to spa at Center Parcs which is about 5 minutes drive ideal location. We will certainly be back!

We stayed as part of a visit to the nearby Aqua Sana spa at Center Parcs, it was the highlight of our trip. Susan and Ed are perfect hosts who could not have done more to accommodate us. They booked a nearby restaurant for us for dinner, we were able to come and go as we pleased without feeling like an inconvenience, the breakfast was so delicious and accommodated all the dietary needs of our group and nothing we asked was too much trouble. The house itself is absolutely beautiful, you won’t be able to help but be inspired by the interiors and the beds are so, so comfortable. Couldn’t fault it and already trying to think of excuses to go back.

Such a beautiful house and Sharon couldn't have been more accommodating. She sorted us out with a dinner reservation in the village last minute and served up a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning, accommodating for all of our dietary needs! The house is clean, cosy and beautiful with lots of lovely walks nearby. We stayed after a day trip to Centre Parc spa and I think Sharon's home was the highlight!

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here in late December. What a great place to stay - it really made the trip! - The room was large, very comfortable and warm (the latter being very important with trips to the area). It is a beautiful old building in amazing surroundings but it has been converted incredibly well. The breakfasts were amazing too! - the hosts were incredibly welcoming, friendly and very helpful. A great place to stay if you are either staying in the area or heading from one side of Ireland to the other (getting to and from major transport links is very easy). Thank you for a really fantastic visit.

When planning a leisurely summer cycle along the Royal Canal way we came across Abbeyview House. What a gem! A beautifully restored house with lovely accommodation in the tranquil and lovely village of Abbeyshrule, Co. Longford deep in Ireland's Hidden Heartlands. After a lovely cycle westwards along the Royal Canal we reached Abbeyshrule's attractive viaduct over the river Inny passing the airfield en route! Abbeyview is delightful. Lovely accommodation, views of the Cistercian Abbey, close to the village (dinner in the lively Rustic Inn was excellent), really comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. Our hosts, Susan and Edward couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend this lovely B & B for other cyclists and walkers enjoying the lovely Royal Canal Way! We'll be

Susan and hubby were wonderful hosts - interested, interesting and a font of local knowledge. They have done a fabulous job of renovating this beautiful old house. It is a perfect stop on the Royal canal way. We cycled from Cloondara to Abbeyshrule - such a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Thank you Susan, we'll definitely be back
