My sister, niece, son and I ventured to the North Shore for a short five-day trip. We spent two nights at the Northern Rail Traincar Inn and it was a fabulous experience. The kids thought it was great to stay in the old train cars. The hotel is quiet, very clean and super comfortable. It was awesome that they had...

We bought a Groupon that brought us here. Just down the road from Betty's Pies. Clean and cute, but the rooms are oddly shaped. A little hard to get around because they are so narrow if you are larger or differently abled. They have tarp over the roof, which makes it look a little rough on the outside, but doesn't...

My wife and I booked this place for a Monday night stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly owner, she was so nice! We were offered puzzles and DVDs to borrow and use for the night. We put together a 700 piece puzzle that kept us up to 4am! The continental breakfast is good. The rooms are so...

My wife and I were there this past weekend. We stayed at one of the King Conductor Suites and it was absolutely amazing! It was easily accessible and the theme is definitely unique. It was cool to see the actual train cars from inside the hallway and is quite charming. The owners were very friendly and informative. It's a 5-Star...

I love funky, different types of accomodations and this was a nice treat. It is easy to find and uses train boxcars that have been converted into accomodations. It has a continental breakfast, which is a nice touch and some solid customer service. The only thing that was so so was the cell/ wifi connection. Otherwise, this is a good...

This spot is very unique and provides a fun atmosphere. The owner(s) were very kind and helpful during our short stay. The breakfast was good and had a decent selection to choose from. The only downside was that some people had brought their young kids along over the weekend and we could hear them running up and down the hallway...

We were looking for a place to stay during our waterfall hiking trip. The rooms are in old railroad boxcars. Because boxcars are long and narrow, the rooms are long and narrow. The ceilings are the original plywood and some have graffiti from hobos who rode in them. Host Cyndi and Jeff are warm and friendly. Most rooms are half...

I loved the whole vibe of this property. It was very unexpected yet so enjoyable! We had booked the parking lot side but the owner upgraded us to the wooded side. We slept in cozy beds in a gorgeous box car converted into a suite. Each suite was slightly different and we were encouraged to explore. The end suites were...

The hotel is in train cars, but rooms are nicer & bigger than you might imagine from thinking of traincars. It's a fun place to stay, right off highway 61 but with woods between the hotel & the highway so instead of hearing car noise, you see deer wandering nearby. Breakfast is normal hotel continental (bagels, boiled eggs, etc). Huge...

We have stayed a few times and have enjoyed ourselves every time. Our only complaint is that we wish they would stick with the train theme throughout rather than having the train building and lobby with various themes for the rooms themselves. Make them all train themed rooms!

Thank you so much for your review! The themes were chosen when the hotel was built in 2002. We purchased it in 2013. The intent behind the themes was as follows: The Oriental rooms were a nod to the "Orient Express". The Safari rooms were a nod to the Safari trains of the 1920's. The Victorian rooms were a nod...
