We travelled in a motorhome and had a powered site, fairly close to the amenities block. It is very busy place, so book ahead!!! The wallabies first thing in the morning was a treat, and walking along the beach at sunset was as well. Has bbq facilities, a swimming pool. Internet/phone access a bit sketchy. There is a big telly and lounge in the main amenities area!…
This was our third year in a row staying at the park and we had another wonderful time with our two young boys but the way management have penultimately treated us means we won’t be coming back again (including friends that have come each year). We realised 16 days prior to our booking that we had booked 5 nights instead of 4 which went a day past school holidays. Therefore I called to ask if there was any possibility to amend. The lady on the phone who was lovely walked away to discuss for a few minutes then came back to us and told us we could not receive a refund due to the proximity of the school holidays, however we could receive a credit to use at another time. I was more than happy with that as another family and ourselves had made it an annual event. She sent an email through to confirm we were now staying 4 nights and owed -$200 and took her word she was telling the truth. Today we check out and go to rebook next year. But no record of the credit??? There is no phone reception there so couldn’t bring up my emails. So the lady at reception said to check AFTER THE DRIVE and give them a call back. So I find the details stated above which aligned with everything regarding my call and credit. However management then told the receptionist I could not have a credit for that night as no one else used the room. This WAS NEVER MENTIONED in the phone call. It may be their fine print but if an employee tells you something on the phone you actually believe them??? The worst part is if we had of known this, OUR FAMILY COULD HAVE MADE SOME CALLS AND STAYED TONIGHT. Instead we find all this out AFTER we drive 4.5 hours home. What management have done here is downright unacceptable. Our family have been totally respectful at all our visits here but this act of greed has left an incredibly bad taste in our mouths. If we knew the full story with their policy (which we assume an employee would know) we would have worked around it accordingly to use all 5 nights, no doubts about it. Being told one thing and then management not honouring what their employee relayed for a cash grab is insulting. Will be cancelling next year, and not coming back. I implore people to steer clear. People like this don’t deserve business.…
We spent 13 nights at Cape Hillsborough with family friends (2nd year in a row for us - 7th for our friends!) over the school holidays. We had a ball, kids loved it and we got to spend some quality time with our family and friends. Such a wonderful place to switch off and take in the beautiful scenery whilst recharging the batteries. The management and staff were amazing..... such dedicated people ensuring that your stay is as relaxing as you hope it will be. See you next year 😊😊…
This was my first time in Cape Hillsborough in 20 years and I don't think any of the infrastructure had been upgraded in that time. For instance, in a national park, I expected a basic level of sustainability like toilets with a half flush. The camp kitchen was sparse with only two hot plates, no fridge, one toaster and one microwave and most of the buildings were in need of a paint job. On the upside, staff were wonderful and welcoming but I came away wondering if $40 a night for a space the size of our two-man tent was a little excessive.…
A caravan park that looks nice and should have been! However, the management are the rudest, most arrogent people I have ever had the mispleasure of coming across! I would NEVER stay there again nor would I reccomend it to anyone! I'd rather stay in my car or in the bush than there!…
