My friend and I went on the waterfall hike with our guide Randal. The hike was relatively short but Randal made sure to point out wildlife and other things of note along the way. I was able to practice my Spanish with him which I really appreciated! I swam at the waterfall but I chickened out from jumping off the high rock. We also had a dog companion for the hike which we both loved.

Guide took us on a hike to the waterfall close by and it was an absolutely incredible experience. The return hike was a little strenuous because it was so steep, however it was definitely worth it. Beautiful place.

We had booked three nights in a "deluxe" room for 2 adults and a child. When we got there we quickly decided we couldn't stay there. The room was a wooden box suspended over the communal area and accessible by a narrow open staircase. The room was advertised to have an en suite bathroom, this turned out to be the dirty communal bathroom used by everyone in the communal area. This was not suitable for our 7 year old going down those stairs in the middle of the night if he needed the bathroom. The box was hot and had a fan but this could not be aimed at both beds at once. The location was in the middle of the jungle but no mosquito nets and lots of holes between the roof and the walls. There was no lock on the door. The noise from the communal area was clearly audible. We had booked with friends and they had a better cabin away from the communal area. They decided to stay but it meant we were separated (we had to find a place to stay on a Friday evening coinciding with Envision, no easy feat) which was a real shame as we only had 5 nights with them in total. Please note this place should only be accessed by 4WD. We got down OK in our little rental car but just to make our bad day even worse we couldn't get up the steep hill again, luckily our friend was fearless and drove it like a rally car backwards all the way up but I still shudder to think what would have happened if a car had come the other way...

I invited a group of 10 women for a weekend getaway . We drove from San Jose , the roads to get there are in great condition , it was a beautiful drive . When we arrived we were welcome by Randal and Estevan. Estevan was an outstanding host ; he made sure we were comfortable and happy to be there. He went to get us ice for our drinks and he organized a bonfire for the gals. Dinner was delicious, casado Costa Rica's typical dish. It was a nice portion , and very tasty. Breakfast and lunch were also excellent. Accommodations were rustic but very clean and comfortable. There was a fridge , coffee maker , nice shower , celing and stand alone fan. The setting is amazing , to lay in bed and listen to nature was so relaxing . The property is well maintained, the hiking tour was amazing , it is 3 km , Randal was very considerate and he adjusted his pace to our physical condition. We saw birds , plants, flowers and plenty of wild life. This is a budget friendly , beautiful adventure with outstanding customer service. I will definitely be back !
