We have just returned from a one night stay here in the 2 rooms available. Both were spotless, the double on the 1st floor and a single on the 2nd. There are a few beams to watch out for and some steps where you might not expect them but these are not problems, they are character. Emma, the owner pointed... More

You've booked an unknown B&B. After a long day travelling, working, touristing or whatever you're wondering what to expect, if there's anywhere to park, what the hosts will be like etc. You arrive and find that you can park right outside the front door. Very handy. On ringing the bell, the door is answered by a lovely lady with an... More

My sister and I stayed here recently while visiting Cambridge, Ely and the Fens. It's a beautiful renovated farmhouse on the edge of a quiet village, two good pubs within walking distance. We were warmly welcomed by Emma. The room was very thoughtfully decorated and comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need. We were served excellent breakfasts with... More

Super accommodation beating hotels any day. Clean, comfortable and spacious plus reading area thoughtfully provided. Attentive host ensured that all our needs were met. The location was perfect for visiting Cambridge and Ely with a good local hostelry providing choice of evening meals. TripAdvisor's requirement for minimum of 200 words per review is unnecessary and almost ensured no review given... More

I stayed at several B&Bs in and around Ely last year but Bury House was by far my favourite, so much so that I tried to stay there whenever I could whilst on business. The building itself is full of character, with spacious and comfortable rooms that are impeccably presented and stocked with everything a guest may need. It doesn't... More

Bury House is a lovely period property, and though the low beams need to be built into your biological satnav, it doesn't detract from the rooms one bit. Emma is a marvellous host, and strikes a great balance between helpfulness and discretion. Will definitely go again, though it'll be more difficult now you all know how good it is!

This B and B is by far the best we have ever stayed in. Just arrived home today after staying for two nights and wanted to say just how excellent it really is. The house is so lovely and Emma had an instant empathy with us as soon as we stepped inside the door. The bedroom is gorgeous and the... More

We cannot recommend this lovely, full of character B&B enough. Emma was very welcoming when we arrived with offers of tea and coffee, then showed us to one of 2 rooms she lets out. Our room was beautifully furnished with everything you would want from a hotel but more! There are a few low beams especially in the shower room... More

We stayed at Bury House for one night after visiting Ely Cathedral. The house was full of character and our room was spacious and clean. You could not fault the room apart from the low oak beams which were a nuisance especially at night. Nice selection of magazines to read and every lotion and potion in a basket in the... More

“If you're taller than average, you may want to mention this because of the lovely old beams in our bed- and bathroom.”

“Emma had told us in advance that the twin room (which we wanted) had low beams. That was fine with us. You do have to be careful when you walk around, but there is so much character with the old beams - it was not a problem.”
