Stopped for lunch. Pretty disgusting. Walleye had lots of bones. I have never had potatoes I couldn't recognize before. Non smoking areas stunk like cigarettes. A heavy earth moving machine was parked in front of the windows, hiding the view of the lake. Just don't go.

We stayed at the lodge 10 October 2015 during a trip up the north shore of Lake Superior to see the fall colors. Our room for 2 people was on the first floor and was very spacious and well decorated. The king bed was probably the most comfortable one we have ever had at a resort or hotel. The lodge...

The casino/hotel is under construction right now, so it wasn't easy to figure out where to go to have access to the hotel. The front desk is in a hallway. The employees at the front desk were not the friendliest. We ate in the dining room for dinner and breakfast; the food and servers were okay. The room, however, was...

We couldn't find much information on line about the cabins. While we were a little nervous at the lack of available information or pictures, we were extremely pleased with the cabin and grounds. The cabin was clean and comfortable, the grounds were very pretty/well kept and the view of Lake Superior was amazing. It was a great place at a...

I stayed here only one night because my research showed it was close to the boat I was going to take to the Isle Royale National Park. Made my reservation direct thru the hotel's website and specified that I wanted a room on the ground floor - I did not want to walk up and down stairs. My reservation was...

The renovations is going to take another three years? No elevator, nowhere to park, no hot tub, ice machine out of service, extremely high price for even the freshly renovated rooms. This was the most expensive place we stayed during our circle tour around Lake Superior. Was by far the worst place we stayed.

When we decided to visit Isle Royale National Park and Grand Portage National Monument in Minnesota we wanted to stay closer to the area. Grand Marais is about 30 miles south. On Trip Advisor I found Grand Portage Lodge and Casino and when I went to their website I found they had Cabins in an area called Hollow Rock Resort...

The property is under construction for a remodel. There is no elevator. I stayed in one of the renovated rooms. It was clean and comfortable. The dining room hours need to be extended on weekends to 10pm. I would wait until the renovation is completed. I arrived early in the day and was told that I couldn't check in until...

This will be an outstanking place to stay when the renovations are complete. Reasonably priced accomadations with plush rooms, excellent beds, bedding, pillows. Very large, soft thick towels. Very good food reasonably priced. Awesome lakeside view. Staff pleasant, efficient and wanting to please. I plan to stay here again... Below the only reason I rated this motel/lodge loud is because...

The hotel is being renovated, so there are some inconveniences. As there is no elevator until the construction is completed, it is difficult for people with mobility problems to reach the second and third floor. Seniors will appreciate that there is a porter, who will bring your luggage upstairs. Our lake view room with two queen beds was very nice,...
